Vernee Apollo X - STOCK ROM and TWRP


Implemented in partnership with @xaras2 (from Italy).





STOCK FIRMWARE flashable by SP Flash Tool

Vernee has not even released any OTA update and any stock rom for Apollo X.
I have decided to build (together xaras2) a flashable stock firmware.
We have worked very hard on it.
We guarantee 100% that it works very well.

IMPORTANT :

I recommend you to remove the check mark from preloader before to flash.

NEW TWRP - NEW INSTALLATION METHOD

TWRP 3.0.3

No need to boot it by fastboot !

This twrp is compatible with stock and custom roms

TWRP INSTALLATION STEPS :

I strongly recommend you the next version of SP Flash Tool :

1) Tap on Settings --> About phone --> Tap Build number seven times.
Developer options --> OEM unlocking enabled and USB debugging enabled.

2) Download SuperSU.zip and BusyBox.zip at the next link :

3) Unrar the rar. Copy the 2 zips onto your microSD.
4) Open SP Flash Tool.
5) Unrar NEW_Apo_X_twrp_3.0.3.rar
6) Load the scatter file inside the folder.
7) Select Download Only option.
8) Click Download.
9) Connect your turned off phone to the pc with USB cable.
10) Disconnect the USB cable.
11) Enter onto twrp recovery (volume up + power buttons simultaneously).
12) Select the first white line and press volume down.

VITAL STEPS :

13) Tap Install, Select Storage, Micro SDCard, OK.
14) Tap on SuperSU-v2.79-SR3.zip
15) Swipe to confirm Flash.
16) Tap on Reboot.
17) Tap on the icon of SuperSU to activate it.
18) Repeat same steps for Busybox v1.26.2 zip

OLD TWRP - OLD INSTALLATION METHOD

TWRP 3.0.2 :



PLEASE FOLLOW VERY CAREFULLY THE NEXT STEPS

1) Download the TWRP 3.0.2 at the next link :

2) Install the adb drivers and fastboot commands :

Unrar the rar. Run “adb-setup.exe”. Hit “Y” to all 3 questions.

3) Tap on Settings --> About phone --> Tap Build number seven times.
Developer options --> OEM unlocking enabled and USB debugging enabled.

4) Download SuperSU.zip and BusyBox.zip at the next link :

5) Unrar the rar. Copy the 2 zips onto your microSD.

STEPS TO DO ONCE ONLY :

6) Plug your phone to PC via USB cable.
Allow the pop up request on your phone to give your PC USB debugging.
7) Open CMD (command prompt).
8) Type the next command :

adb reboot bootloader (and press enter)

9) Now type the next command :

fastboot oem unlock (and press enter)

10) Press volume up (into your phone) to confirm to unlock the bootloader.
You will see in the CMD prompt the next messages :

"Start unlock flow", and when it will be finished, you will see "OKAY".

11) Reboot in normal mode (be patient, when you unlock the bootloader, the phone reset to factory).
12) Now tap 7 times on Build number. Then Developer options, and re-enable OEM unlocking and USB debugging.

STEPS TO DO EVERY TIME YOU NEED TWRP RECOVERY:

13) Copy the TWRP (recovery.img) into the same folder of fastboot.exe and adb.exe ( c:\adb\ ).
14) Connect your phone to the PC via USB cable.
15) Open CMD (command prompt) and type the next command :

adb reboot bootloader (and press enter)

16) Now type the next command :

fastboot boot c:\adb\recovery.img (and press enter)

17) Tap on Backup.
18) Check mark on Nvram, Boot, System and Data.
19) Tap on Select Storage, tap on MicroSDCard, tap on OK.
20) Tap Swipe to Backup.
21) Return to the main menù of TWRP.
22) Tap Install, Select Storage, Micro SDCard, OK.
23) Tap on SuperSU-v2.79-SR3.zip
24) Swipe to confirm Flash.
25) Tap on Reboot.
26) Tap on POWER OFF.
27) Turn on your phone.
28) Tap on the icon of SuperSU to activate it.
29) Repeat the same steps for Busybox v1.26.2 zip

I was up to step 21 (install microSD) etc did not find it
Now i have restarted to add these files with my pc but i have the right
"Your device has been unlocked and can not be trusted
Your device will boot to 5seconds "but nothing happens
Help me please

PS : My disk space disappeared when I look at the internal memory that should be towards 54go

Do not worry ! Cleo will help you to resurrect your Apollo X
I have a question for you :
Do you have tried to install the LineageOS ?

No because it does not reboot and especially it does not find any disk space (0mo) I root, and even twrp on several smartphones all worked from the 1st blow

I absolute guarantee to you that the LineageOS works well.
The screenshots are the proof that it works well.
Many people have installed the LineageOS.
Why do you have problems about it ?
Are you sure to have followed carefully all the steps that I have suggested ?

Please try once again to install the LineageOS.

STEPS :

1) Flash the stock rom
2) Connect the phone to the pc with USB.
3) Boot the TWRP with the next commands :

adb reboot bootloader (and press enter)

fastboot boot c:\adb\recovery.img (and press enter)

4) Follow carefully all the steps about LineageOS (tested on Apollo X device).

If you speak of sp flash tool, I can not do it, whether it is under linux (archlinux or ubuntu) or windows 7 or 8 it does not recognize it, and the never recognized

I do not have access to debian or ubuntu, I will try on archlinux
If not how do we see that it recognizes the telephone? Should it be in fastboot mode? etc.

FIRST UPDATE - VITAL

NEW FLASHABLE STOCK ROM - REBUILT

Some users told me that they have had problem with an ota update.
The ota update in question is the next :

- Version number : Apollo_X_20170426171051
- Version size : 16.26 MB
- Release date : 2017-4-26



Vernee has released the "full_k15tb_a-ota-1490679079.zip".
I have analysed this zip.
I have compared the differences between
my "Apollo X-20170328.rar" and "full_k15tb_a-ota-1490679079.zip".

I rebuilt a new flashable stock firmware mixing the ota with my rom.
I ran all the tests on the new rebuilt flashable stock rom.

Result : FIXED ota update "Apollo_X_20170426171051"

I STRONGLY RECOMMEND YOU TO FLASH THIS NEW REBUILT ROM !


STEPS TO FLASH THE NEW REBUILT ROM :

1) Download the new rebuilt rom at the next link :

2) Download the last version of SP Flash Tool at the next link :

3) Open SP Flash Tool.
4) Load the scatter file inside stock firmware folder.
5) Select "FIRMWARE UPGRADE".

- Considerations :

Why "Firmware Upgrade" option ?
It is because this option lock once again the bootloader.
Without locked bootloader the ota updates can be complicated.

6) Click Download.
7) Connect your turned off phone to the pc with USB cable.

- Considerations :

Sometimes on the first try,
SP Flash Tool returns the next error : status_err (-1073676287).
It's rare, but it does happen.
Do not worry !
Disconnect the USB cable from pc.
Click on "Download" once again.
Connect once again the USB cable to the pc.
This time everything will be OK.

8) Be patient until the flash process will be finished (100%).
9) Disconnect the USB cable.
10) Press power button.

SECOND UPDATE - VERY HELPFUL

Working Custom Recovery for Custom Roms

A really annoying problem about custom roms for Apollo X was the custom recovery.
It was not possible to boot the TWRP 3.0.2 by "fastboot boot c:\adb\recovery.img".
Therefore it was not possible to make any backup or install any gapps.zip

Finally I have found a solution to achieve this

All you need is the Carliv Touch Recovery 5.7.3

I have performed Backup, Restore, Gapps, SuperSu and BusyBox by Carliv.
Everything worked fine.

I recommend you to follow carefully all the steps below !

STEPS TO BACKUP

- restart the phone
- choose recovery option
- be patient
- select Backup/Restore
- press the power button
- select Backup to SDcard (it is the microSD)
- press the power button
- select Go Back
- press the power button
- Reboot Phone
- press the power button

STEPS TO RESTORE

- select Wipe Menu
- press the power button
- select Wipe All
- press the power button
- select Yes - Wipe All
- press the power button
- select Yes - I want it this way
- press the power button
- select Go Back
- press the power button
- select Backup/Restore
- press the power button
- select Restore from SDcard
- press the power button
- CTR-2017-XX-XX
- press the power button
- select Yes - Restore
- press the power button
- select Go Back
- press the power button
- Reboot Phone
- press the power button
