I have search/googled and the more I read the less I know. Some ppl use A development mode and the have succes in saving the new apn.But for me it does not work.
Will the only solution be to root the phone? for the apn to change/ad a new one?
strange thing is when I tap(multiple times) the apn thats fixed,It shows the editing screen it appears and disappears.
can't do anythingAngry
Someone have any suggestions?
Hi. I too have the APN problem with my Feiteng. I've rooted it, attempted the Samsung code fix (adding two lines of code to the build.prop) but that's made no difference. I manually added the required APN data (Ovivo in my case) to the huge APN list but it refuses to save the edit. Now I'm reading that the problem might be inherent with Jellybean and that reverting to ICS or earlier might solve it.

Maybe I'll just give the phone to hubby and get a 4.1.1 model. Rolleyes

Tnx for the reply,So you have rooted and it stil wont work with the apn?hmm thats my last hopeDoh.I have orderded A new sim from my provider and hope this will help(but I doubt it)
I will try to root it and manualy edit the apn list(and yes its huge)I tried it already but without adminrights it wont save.I keep you posted if I find something that does work. android 4,2,2 is not my favorite at this timeShhh.
everything else just works fine on the phone.
Latest attempt: I installed Root Explorer, copied the APN file as back-up, then changed the file permissions to owner read/write/execute. I edited out the UK Vodafone APNs and replaced them with the Ovivo APN code.

When I turned on data and went back into phone settings to see what APN my Ovivo sim was using, it still listed the Vodafone ones. I selected menu > restore defaults and the Vodafone APN names vanished but Ovivo wasn't showing in their place.

I turned off my phone, removed the Ovivo sim, turned the phone on and off again, then re-inserted the Ovivo sim. And under "APN names" popped up..... Vodafone. Sad Menu > restore defaults made the Vodafone APNs vanish again but I'm still scratching my head as to how to make the sim pick up the Ovivo APN.

It worked for me,Apn changed to my provider.
Al I had to do was change the xmlfile to my settings and it works like a charm.Eatenbyweasels.I did this Xml file change and then just restore apn and yes data connection. Not removing my sim al all.
Hans,

Maybe you could make a step-by-step tutorial easy enough for a newbie to follow... For the forum. That would be great. Thumbs Up

Lol I'm A newbie;)
But here it goes.
Feiteng apn change manualy(at least this worked for me)Feiteng H9503 android 4.2.2
First I used cool root this can be found here:http://www.chinaphonearena.com/forum/Thread-Cool-root-MTK6592-MTK6582-MTK6572-MTK6577-MTK6589-China-Phones-and-most-Jelly-Bean.
Followed those steps.
Installed Supersu
Installed ES explorer(googleplay)
Turned on root at es explorer.
Search for the apn xml list on the phone systemfolder(made a copy from it and save it on SD)you never know
Then You look for your provider on that list or the provider it currently have on your phone and just manualy edit it to your settings.Save it.
Go to your apn names and restore setting it should now list your providers name and settings.
Long storyCan't look
So this worked for me.
O the apnlist can be found at system/etc/apn xmlist
I hope this helps someone
Well done! Smiling

I'm still having problems; I did the apn xml list edits via Root Explorer (I had already attempted the task using ES Explorer but got an error when I attempted to save the changes) but I'm still getting a blank where "Ovivo" and the green button should appear when I go into the settings for the Ovivo sim.
