Flash ROM and CWM with SP Flash Tool On MT6755 Helio P10, MT6750. MT6753, MT6797, MT6752, MT6732, MT6752, MT6795, MT6595, MT6592, MT6589, MT6572, MT6582, MT6577

If you'd like to know how to flash a ROM on MTK6752, MTK6753, MTK6732, MTK6795, MT6595, MT6592, MT6589, MT6572, MT6582, MT6577, you're on the right post. Normally we refer people to a rooting post, which includes this information, as the procedure is mostly the same. But for the sake of simplicity, we'll write a stand-alone tutorial.

Note, if you don't have access to a backup, create one first - [Only registered and activated users can see links Click here to register]

Remember, we ARE NOT responsible for any hell that happens to your phone. You take any and all responsibility for messing with your phone.

What you'll need:
What to do:
  • Step 1 - Install the PDANet USB ADB VCOM drivers - [Only registered and activated users can see links Click here to register]
  • Step 2 - Download, extract, and run the latest version of SP Flash Tools
    [attachment=623]
  • Step 3 - Check to see if a scatter file exists. Look in the firmware / ROM's folder. You should see a file that looks similar to 'MT6582_Android_scatter_EMMC.txt'. If you don't see the scatter file, you need to create one with MTK Droid Tools. After you've created the scatter, place it in the same folder as the firmware / ROM you intend to flash.
    [attachment=624]
  • Step 4 - Select 'scatter-loading' from upper-right of SP Flash Tools. Navigate to the ROM / Firmware's directory and you should see a file that looks something like MT6582_Android_scatter_EMMC.txt. Select this and you should then see a checklist of different parts of the ROM load in the bottom portion of SP Flash Tools.
    [attachment=626]
  • Step 5 - Deselect 'preloader' in the checklist. If you don't want the firmware / ROM to mess with your current partitioning, deselect EBR1 and EBR2 as well. NOTE: If you're sure you have the correct firmware for your phone, you can leave Preloader selected.
  • Step 5.5 - If you are only flashing recovery, deselect everything except for recovery.img. Double click recovery line and direct Flash Tool to location of your recovery. (see video at 02:00)
    [attachment=625]
  • Step 6 - Make sure the phone is disconnected from USB and powered off. Select 'download' from the top of SP Flash Tools. NOTE: If all portions of the firmware are checked, then you can select 'Firmware Upgrade'. If you have problems with 'Firmware Upgrade' or vice versa, you can try the other one.
    [attachment=627]
  • Step 7 - Connect USB cable to phone and watch the pretty colors fly

If you run into any errors, please see this thread for a list of common problems and some possible fixes. [Only registered and activated users can see links Click here to register]
Why to deselect pre loader in step 5? Any specific reason?
I need a little help here, please. Look, I have done everything following the instructions of the tutorial,. Everything's fine untill the sixth step. When I select the "download" option there's a purple bar the charges untill the hundred percent and then it turns white again... After that I understood on the post that I have to plug the phone powered off , I've done that, but it does nothing.
So... Where am I wrong? Where am I failing? Because I almost don't know what am I doing, this is my first chinesse phone ever and the tools and the enviroment are completely diferent than the Samsung anoes I'm used to work with. (Sorry for my written mistakes, I'm still learning) Thanks to anyone who can help me out of this little throuble.

Explanation:
The tutorial says we need "USB ADB VCOM drivers". As part of the [Only registered and activated users can see links Click here to register] tutorial I had previously installed the "MTK6592 / MTK6582 / MTK6589 / MTK6577 / MTK6575 / MTK6572 ADB PDAnet VCOM Drivers" drivers. I have an MTK6589 so I thought it was a good match. Unfortunately it would not connect. Once I installed the "MTK6589 MTK6577 MTK6575 COM Auto Driver Pack " everything went as described in this tutorial.

I have SM-W2014 clone by ALPS with a MTK6589 chip.
hello all
I have a big problem with my n9700 SESONN. Following a manual formatting, I wanted to reflash a rom with sp fash tool but nothing to do, the flash always goes very well up to 96% and the error BROM: S_FT_DOWNLOAD_FAIL (4008) I do not know what I have to try differente differente ways and Rom.
Please if anyone could help me I suck at hacking.

Yes. the preloader is totally phone hardware dependent, it is the part that establishes communication with the phone. It is also the first stage of the complete loading process of your phone. It passes control to the bootloader (lk.bin) which in turn starts the various hardware specifics of your phone. The bootloader also provides the recovery menu (only the menu as the recovery is in a different partition) and basic boot information (like the bootanimation).
Both parts only need to be flashed if the phone does not go into recovery and seems totally dead (complete soft-bricked). If not, it is best to leave them alone.
A broken preloader can also lead to losing communication with your pc.

@d1237
Be aware that erasing or reformatting the total nand-flash of your phone also erases the preloader, bootloader and nvram, effectlively leaving your phone dead as a doornail. Better have a complete (yes, complete meaning not only imei, but all of your nvram) backup before trying.

@Gizbeat
What I'm missing between step 1 and 2 in the OP, is checking with adb if the phone is recognized and if not adding the id to the ini file. That ensures the communication and drivers are ok to be used for flash and droidtools.
Since mirandam is offering an explanation of what to flash and what not to flash etc, maybe my remarks are On topic?

In reference to Preloader:
Quote:It is also the first stage of the complete loading process of your phone. It passes control to the bootloader (lk.bin)

AFAIK lk.bin stands for Little Kernel and can not IMHO be regarded as a booloader stage. The bootloader is the bootloader.....and for most people is likely to be UBOOT.

I claim uboot boots after the bootloader stage. It boots the kernel.

I am lacking an easy English flowchart I will find it later but this might suffice?

Thank you for your reply. My Huawei G700 U10 now can reboot normaly (restart) but can not reboot recovery. I have flashed stock rom (B115 - checked all items) with default format (format whole flash except bootloader) but still the same. That is why I need tp know if I flash stock rom with format whole flash, my phone will be returned as new and no problem? I have backup via MKT 2,5,3. Second thing, in backup have "Kernel block map to PMT mismatch ( Block name: Kernel: _NOLD_CUST PMT: CUST - offset: 0x 0000000044780000. Please hell me to fix it.
Thank you very much.
