I've recieved my Inew V3-E two days ago. and since I'm using it, i discover few problems.
When I look at the information of the phone, i saw that my kernel is 3.4.5 Dec 24 16:48:50 and the build number is cxq_v3_inew_v1.0.1

here they are :

1 - My otg doesn't work (Batch 1 ???)
2 - GPS fix quiclky (12s) but loose the signal regularly for long time. Impossible to use waze or other ...
3 - date & time menu crash
4 - i don't have the developer options menu !!! I've met a factory reset, and it didn't appeared.
5 - At each restart the phone seems to send a sms ... I saw 'send SMS' on the screen (0 apps installed, after a reset)
6 - The speaker sizzles a little beat but it doesn't matter Big Grin

I'm a bit disapointed because, the GPS for me is very important Lost It and i can't root my phone because i can't use the USB debugging ...

Any solutions guys ?
Is the build 1.0.6t02 would help me, and will I be able to upgrade my firmware without the debugging option ?

Thank you for your answers.

That's ok for the debugging menu. I've just hit 7 time on the build line, in the info menu.

That's better Smiling
1 - My otg doesn't work (Batch 1 ???)
Didn't check it, i don't need otg but when find a OTG cable will check it.
2 - GPS fix quiclky (12s) but loose the signal regularly for long time. Impossible to use waze or other ...
I didn't use it long time but there is a video in youtube "mediatek gps fix" i do this and gps work fine.
3 - date & time menu crash
Mine too and i glad too find another person who says that Smiling
4 - i don't have the developer options menu !!! I've met a factory reset, and it didn't appeared.
Go to "about phone" and click "cxq_v3_inew_v1.0.1" 7 times it'll appears in settings.
5 - At each restart the phone seems to send a sms ... I saw 'send SMS' on the screen (0 apps installed, after a reset)
My old Cube Talk 5H did this but inew didn't if you are rooted you can change your "Mms.apk"
6 - The speaker sizzles a little beat but it doesn't matter
It didn't recognise all earphones, but the speakers are fine too me.
To get dev options
Open Settings, then go to phone details (where u can see kernel, Android-version etc) then just tap your Build number "JOP40C" 7 times !

Hard to tell if it's 1st or 2nd batch, but many people got it working after flashing the newest firmware.

And how long is that? Also if you're moving around maybe you don't have the same sattelite coverage, and the signal breaks down?

Other MTK phones also have this issue. There was the same question in this forum, and the answer was that all is ok. So even on the same model, the issue is not always present. Maybe it has something to do with language which is set and the time zone?

It sizzles on max, or even at low volume? On max it's "normal" to some degree, otherwise the speaker might be damaged...
For #1, try to install the firmware at [Only registered and activated users can see links Click here to register] . Yes, I know it's the same as what you have. Try anyways. But first, try a different OTG cable. Often it's a cable fault.

The rest of the issues I haven't experienced at all, but in regards to #6, this isn't too uncommon for the speaker to have a little vibration. If it's really annoying you, it's not difficult to replace, but it could be something else slightly loose vibrating.
SO, I've tried some differents things with my inew during the night (GMT +1 France)
I've rooted my phone with vroot 1.6 I've found here.
Here are the evolution :

1 - Otg seems to be good after all. My mouse appeared !!! My usb key is rejected. I think that's because my usb key is a booting one, with my ubuntu inside (linuxlive key). It's a fat32 but ...
2 - Like my phone was rooted, I try all the MTK tips (I also have a MT6589 phone). The last thing I've done is to use fasterGPS (play.google) and choose europe/france for the ntp server. This morning I'Ve made 70km with Waze. After 2km no signal... During all my driving, waze show me the right road 10 times, all the rest of the time I was in fields, or on other roads ... Sad
3 - Not a real problem for me ...
4 - Found it Smiling
5 - I will try the rom you give me Gizbeat. Because, the send sms appear even after a reset factory. I saw it the first time after install mobileuncletools ... I will try it this evening.
6 - It sizzles for time to time. Not a huge problem for me. And 50% of the time I use bluetooth earphone.

Thanks for all your answers !

Yes, it might be because of the bootable partition. Had a similar case on a tablet. And regarding fat32, I've been reading there's also native NTFS support, but can't remember where was I reading about that... argh...

That's not a good information at all. Can you try using Sygic or Navitel, and test the same route?

(2014-01-09, 18:45)fanfan2175 Wrote: [ -> ]Because, the send sms appear even after a reset factory.

Could it be some security defense? Like, if the phone was stolen and wiped clean, so upon the first boot it sends something (like gps coordinates, or IMEI, etc) to some server as a notification? It's a wild guess. But there are many 3rd party apps that do just that. So maybe it's a good thing.
I like the phone let you can manage the phone app permissions, at least you can do this;
Settings > Security > App Permissions

You can block the Sms permissions which you don't want.
I was told today by my supplier that there is an NFC issue (NFC not working well) too.
Seams to be a minor problem because they expect it to be solved in a few days :-) Is it possible for anyone to check this?

Despite all this I decided to order one. Such a beauty :-)
