Most time to get full root access on a rooted mtk phone running KITKAT is always better when you have BusyBox installed on your Device.

(you have to do this manually, so you need to know what information to use from the scatter file, else forget this post).
This will include all information, binaries and config files, even the ones used for the wifi mac address and a lot of calibration files.
You can later restore it to your phone simply by downloading the file with flashtool, no need for any conversion as it is a raw binary file.

Hi, so in order to make a full backup of a pristine brand new non rooted phone, then I should use flashtool?.
Do you have a link to a tutorial of how to make a full backup with everything included before I start messing with the phone`s ROM?

Thank you.
This is the backup method that does the read back with SP Flash Tool: [Only registered and activated users can see links Click here to register]

if you are rooted you can make one with droid tools. Backup of the ROM and one of your NVRAM.
And even better if you will be able to find BPLGU files of your phone.

Lastly, if you don't have your Serial Number written down under the back cover, write that down as well. If you lose your serial number during the flash, even the NVRAM backup won't be enough.

HI again,
So the read back method without root will backup only the ROM?

What are the NVRAM and BPLGU files for?

By serial number I suppose you mean IMEI?

I thought I only needed the ROM, it already happened to me that when upgraded the ROM to a phone, it ended up without WiFi MAC and IMEI, it took me 3 nights until I finally found a custom ROM in a Russian forum that fixed the issues.

Thank you.
A complete ROM. Yes.

Restoring an nvram backup can solve invalid imei issues that happen after ROM flashes or updates.

But if your sn is also wiped during the flash, restoring nvram isn't enough.

By serial number, I mean the actual serial number of your phone. Key in *#66# then select sn. Your serial number should show. Its a long alphanumeric code. Just take note of it.

Bplgu is needed when restoring imei and sn. That usually comes with an official ROM and is tagged with your baseband version.
IMEI BUTTON REMAINS GREY.
I can't click on it.

Lenovo A806, rooted, debbuged, SU permision given, etc etc, .

Can't restore imei after 11 h of searching....

desperate.
hi, MATRUSHKO. If you are rooted, you can use Mobileuncle Tools to restore your IMEI.
