Good morning people.  I recently picked up a Tablet, a cheap Chinese unbranded one,  It says it has 128gb,  6gb ram and ten core cpu,  it is of course the ZH960.
Now we all know thats fake,  not sure what it is but its kitkat, not 8.1, and i suspect 32gb not 128 and 1 or 2 gb ram.
My question is, is this a generic tablet that will work with any zh960 firmware, or do i still need a specific rom for it???,  and is there a way, to find out, identify the rom that i will need??.
Im more interested in custom roms, but my understanding is, there isnt any for these fake tablets.
Any help or advice appreciated, many thanks.
Well, assuming it's the same device naked ZH960 then it should be okay. Wasn't there a Zopo phone named ZH960? Or maybe I'm remembering wrong.

Anyways, I recommend you just stay with your stock ROM that came with it. There's probably very few, if any, benefits that would come with a custom ROM, if it exists and you'll probably save yourself a lot of headache.

Thanks for the prompt reply,  I am happy enough despite the fake readings lol, im assuming its only a dual or quadcore too.  One last thing, is there a app, that would give me a true hardware report on its internals, just to find out for sure what it is reading, ie, how many cores etc.  Tried a couple of the free ones i saw, but they only report what the hacked KK tells you, so im just trying to ascertain exactly whats under the hood so to speak.  Thanks again for replying.
This one used to sometimes tell if the RAM amount is fake. Just open it and under memory info would show.

Smile What did it show? Sometimes it will show "RAM amount is fake!"

True spec
Model :  Stack ZH960
CPU : Quadcore  not (Tencore)
Memory : 32gb  Not (128gb)

So i tested memory myself by filling it up with music albums and movies,  I got roughly 28gb of stuff on it, which would be close to been right considering space it allocates for system etc etc lol,  still, for a 32gb quadcore,  its actually not bad, plays movies and games and music ok so cant really moan.
Just out of curiosity, How are they allowed to sell these items on Ebay as new with false specs by using the 4x multiplier, SURELY that contravenes trading standards of some description, its like selling a sports car with a fiat 500 engine in it!
Oh yer and the camera is a samsung Galaxy core prime camera.
From what ive read, these cheapo china tabs are often made up from recycled parts from old tablets.

So the app is showing correct. Good.

Well I'm not sure how eBay would side with something like this. You could file a dispute and show a screenshot from the app. Even if they didn't side with you, the seller might give the refund or partial refund to avoid trouble.

If me, I would message the seller and seem very angry and get the seller scared Can't look  and try to get partial refund while keeping the tablet, assuming you're pretty happy with it.
