I haven't seen this phone mentioned yet in this forum, but has anyone successfully rooted this phone?  It's running Mediatek Helio P90 (MT6779).  I've tried all the tools I found, including some that mention this SoC as supported.

I presume that Doogee's ROM is patched against those methods, but I'm hoping that someone has found a way!  I like the phone and like their ROM just fine, but I really prefer to "own" devices I paid for.  Also, makes it easier to transfer App data from my previous phone.

If you have successfully rooted (or have any suggestions about this) please do reply.  Thanks for reading this!

Has two secure ways with Pie ROMs/devices, but I advise you: Have stock ROM?
  1. Use magisk manager for create boot_patched.img
  2. Use TWRP for create a backup of device, save that in the PC, install magisk...zip with TWRP

I found a way with Magisk but we don't have an fully working TWRP and we don't have stock firmware. Ideas on getting stock firmware?

Maybe we can get the stock firmware from the device itself? I have the stock boot image now, from another forum website but it's a Russian site so it's hard to use.

I read your message in the russian forun becasue I'm member....

Hello,

I have a DooGee S95 Pro here in the USA. I'd like to run LineageOS on it. I can get the TWRP sort of running on it. Any ideas or places to look and see about doing this? I know this phone is GSI compatible but how does this help? I have a LineageOS GSI for 17 or 17.1 which would be great to be able to install on it.

Thanks

But the question is: Your have the stock ROM to your device?

How brave are you to have TWRP or root?
Have you backed up NVRAM and NVDATA files directly from your device?

I saw that someone helped TWRP for the Russian model. So far I have not seen any users giving feedback if they were able to install the supplied TWRP.
If you write to him then you can help him with his American model.

If you want to write to me (in English or another language): another forum
Hello,

I do not have a backup of anything other than the stock boot image. I was able to get temporary TWRP on the device that means I can install TWRP and boot into it but if I reboot it erases TWRP. I do not have stock firmware so I can't do much without that and don't know how to make a backup of the stock firmware.

Thanks

You can make the stock ROM with WWR tool so google search for english or another forum
WWR Tool Orig Forun
TWRP is from?
If you have acess to \system or \system\system or \system_root\system so search recovery-from-boot.p and delete file. Reboot recovery and look if TWRP fixes. If not so TWRP is not compatible with your device (i have doubts about)..... So you need test.
You can backup with TWRP and copy files to your PC.... that's a great ideia!
Hello,

It's TWRP for a different device with the same MediaTek chip. It works but not quite correctly as I don't think I did the install properly. Found it on the another forum forum and it works. but I would need to find the WWR tool so I can make a rom. I don't think I can backup with TWRP currently but I am not sure, I will have to try.

I'll return tomorrow with some results if I have time to make any headway.

Thanks
Hello,

The TWRP I have that works on the S95 Pro was originally built for the Oppo Reno Z this is TWRP 3.3.2b-0221 by wzsx150

I'll attempt a backup to the SD card and transfer it to the computer.
Hello,

I can do the following:

Data
Cache
System
System Image
Boot
dtbo
Recovery
bootloader
Vendor
persist
nvram
proinfo
logo
trustzone1
trustzone2
vbmeta
protect_f
protect_s
nvdata
nvcfg

Not sure which ones I should backup or if I should do them all. I can't select storage or anything though it wants to backup to internal which might be ok?

Maybe you can help?

Because you need FORMAT DATA first for TWRP look storages....
or backup internal sdcard.... search \media\storages or anything with \TWRP
I can't help here because I not looking here much.

For security I suggest using WWR Tool first without TWRP installed.

All actions is your responsability!
