Just checked NeedROM and it looks like someone successfully ported MIUI V5 to the S7589 a couple of days ago, which reportedly runs on Android 4.3.
Not sure how legit this is yet. I will try to check it out this weekend if I can, but in case any of the rest of you want to try it out, here is the link:
