I really like MIUI and I don't want to go back to "normal" android so I'm looking for a 6" or 6.1" phone with good support and a good camera. Are there any 6"+ WCDMA phones that are getting popular? I can wait a few weeks if something big is coming along soon.

Other requirements are not so important, but working GPS would be nice. Not sure if I need 1080p on a 6" either... I think 720p would be good enough.

I was looking at the ZOPO ZP990. Is that a good choice?
Afaik Zopo makes great phones, I was going to buy the zp990+ until I decided to go with a larger device. I'm not sure on their GPS performance though, I would look around at some review to see what people say. From my research leading up to my recent purchase it seems that phones made by Yatay have been giving excellent GPS performance. These phones can be identified by the markings underneath the battery, note the model/IMEI sticker and the bands printed on the plastic:

MIUI can be appllied to supposedly any Android device using MIUI Express

I know that the iNew i6000 and i6000+ have been quite popular BUT they seem to be kinda glitchy with touch issues and other things that I can't recall off of the top of my head, maybe the issues have been resolved though.
Thanks for the tip on the inew i6000. I've been reading about it and it seems to have a good following (good support/ROMs) and the 6.4" screens looks great. The camera doesn't impress but it only costs $240.

I've also discovered that my phone contract has free 4G, so perhaps I should look at a 4G phone. Not many to choose from - I found the Huawei Ascend Mate 2 and the Alcatel (TCL) OneTouch Hero. The Huawei uses a Snapdragon so the GPS is likely to work properly (Mediatek take note!). That said, I can't find either of these phones for sale.
You're welcome! Be careful with LTE phones and, as always, check your frequencies. I was looking at waiting for the Huawei X1 LTE to come out but then I found that it has ZERO USA LTE bands, I know I saw this on other phones too. Frankly they tend to look out for Chinese and European customers when it comes so band support. IMO LTE is overrated anyways, when do you really need to exceed the 42Mbps down of HSPA+? FYI I bought the Ulefone U7 and one other person here has it that I know of(it JUST came out though) and it has gained a decent following thus far in Europe from what I've seen. http://www.chinaphonearena.com/forum/Thr...-yours-yet
I'm in Europe but you're right, I don't really need 4G speeds. A good camera and working GPS is more important, which has brought me to the Huawei Ascend Mate (original version, not Mate 2) that's available for $226 including delivery from Aliexpress (good feedback on the store too).

I think this is the phone for me. Excellent camera and good community support so I'll get MIUI as well Smiling

It seems I made a mistake about the camera - it's the Ascend Mate 2 that has the high quality 13MP BSI camera. The original Ascend Mate has a regular 8MP of average quality Sad
Whoa. I had no idea MIUI Lite was a thing. My S7589 had a MIUI port for it, but I never flashed it because.... well, because I was lazy. Haha.

In regards to 8MP, it might be average, but it's still more than enough. My S7589 had an 8MP camera, but still took some pretty fantastic pictures. Also, with whatever flashed OS I was running at the time, the camera technically *could* take 13MP pictures -- which leads me to believe there were some software shenanigans going on in there. Frankly, I think anything above 6MP is more than most people will use. It's not the mega pixels that matter, so much as it is the quality of lens and the sensor size. See if you can find some test shots from any of the phones you are interested in. They will be far more telling than a statistic regarding megapixels.
Yeah I know MP is mostly a marketing ploy, that's why I try to find sample shots and opinions of owners. It's features such as BSI that I look for. I think the Ascend Mate 2 is supposed to have a very good camera. If only Chinese cameras could compete with the Lumia...
I unfortunately know little regarding the specific phones you're posting about, but I've been pretty happy with both of my Chinese phones' cameras. For reference on the 8MP camera I had, I posted up some pics from the Star S7589 here:
