Of course, the IMEI is lost after every flash.
Look in this topic how to set it back:

However, you must use the H9008_base ROM I provided because that contains the right Radio-file (lk.img) which works with the T100s rom.

Yes, but when I use system.img from T100s then it suddenly does not work to set the IMEI. The phone does not even detect any SIM card.
Yesterday I loaded the phone with the "original" ROM again and then there were no problem to set the IMEI and the SIM cards were detected again. Very strange...

I must have mixed up the files earlier. I did the whole procedure all over again (not so many steps so I don't understand how I could mess it up) and voila, it worked!

Thanks!
Hello Gersonl, how is the h9008 behaving with regards random shutdown?
I'm very keen in your experience. I've got one that shuts down every two hours, and before applying a new rom if like to hearing about you experience.
Best, and thank you for the research.
The bug is in the H9008 kernal. Replacing the system.img does not seem to fix the fault.

I've ordered a new phone and gonna use this as a media player for the TV. I won't recommend the H9008/MLais MX69T to anyone.
If it didn't shut down in sleep mode is would be an excellent phone, but this is unacceptable.

The only workaround is flashing the H9008+ rom (which has another kernel) but then the camera's don't work.
Thank you for the information
I've decreased the CPU clock frequency and shut down frequency has been reduced too
@gersonl, I agree with you And appreciate your information. Hopefully manufacturer fixes the problem with a new ROM.
What exactly is the difference between H9008 and H9008+ ROMs / phones?

Hi gersonl.
I agree the phone looks and works great but the shut down means this phone is useless. Please could you point me to instructions for the H9008+ rom and how to flash my phone? I'd rather put up with no camera than no phone!
I'm new to this, would my phone need to be rooted first?
Thanks for your input.
This is ROM is not guaranteed to fix the issue, some people who flashed it still have the problem, but

You might want to try just making the phone so it doesn't deep sleep.
Thanks Sniper47
I've set it to the longest setting I can which is 30min and this stops it from going to sleep for the 30 min. still doesn't cut it though and isn't usable. If I can't get another rom to work with it then it looks like all this phone is good for is a sat nav (it works great with CoPilot) or could be my 6 year old will be getting a play phone. It could act like a small tablet I suppose??

I'm just really gutted this phone phone is still being sold when they know it's faulty!
This was my fist Chinese phone purchase (I'm in the UK) after doing loads of research and it's probably going to be my last. I thought it was worth the risk but I didn't count on it only being usable for less than 4 days Angry
Thanks again for the info.
Sorry this happened. But that's part of the risk taken when ordering from overseas. I don't know what shop you ordered from, but it's possible they have no clue they're selling a faulty model. Some sell hundreds of different phones and models every day. If you dealt with one of our sponsors, we can help with trying to exchange the model.

Use this app for keeping the phone awake.

Try partial wakelock first. If it doesn't work use full wakelock.
