Hi,

Few weeks ago I was in Thailand and buy there one "samsung S4" clone for around 180US$.
Below are photos of this S4 clone.

As I have problem as GPS don't work at all and I try everything what I found about this on web I think problem could be only in rom version or at the end some HW problem what can't be fix.

So first I would like to identify my phone to know then where to search and what different ROM to use.

I also notice I can't uninstall or update Antutu and CPU-Z sw? Why?
As I got different information from different programs I guess some of data are wrong and also result of test are overclocked?

Also on a box there is writte and CPU is 4+4 core? and result from Antutu could tell me it is really 8core cpu still other programs says it is only 2 core or 4 core so which program to beleive. One program says 1GHz cpu, other 1,6 or 1,7 GHz cpu?
Also rom it would be 16G (by packing label?) or maybe 9G still after installing just a few applictaions this rom size decrease dramatically?

Even Android version it shows as 4.4 but I know it is 4.3 or even 4.2?
I don't know where to gert real data about this phone?

As I surf over internet and seek for model I guess this is one of HDC Galaxy S4 Legend or maybe HDC Galaxy S4 Orochi model?

First, you have an MT6589 processor. This is a quad-core processor that's really well-known in older (last year or two) model Chinese phones. It's typically between 1GHz - 1.5 GHz depending on specific model. It's a very capable processor. Unfortunately, it was notorious for having poor GPS. No ROM will necessarily "fix" your GPS since it's a hardware issue, but there are some workarounds to help. Check out the two sticky threads here to get started on the right track:

I'm guessing your problem with not being able to update AnTuTu is because the version you have is somehow hacked/fake. Do you have access to the Google Play store? You can use a program like Titanium Backup to freeze or uninstall your current AnTuTu. Then you should be able to download whatever the latest is.

It's an extremely high probability you're running Android 4.2 on that phone. It's very, very typical of MT6589 phones.

Gotta run for now. Sorry to be the bearer of bad news, but I hope this is a step in the right direction.
Never seen results like you posted, if the results are even close to being accurate, you don't have a mtk at all, you have a ARM Cortex-A9 blazing fast processor, running on a mt6589 mother board.

Here is a pic, of my phone using same app, also your kernel is too old to support beyond JB 4.2, My guess you have a single or at max, a dual core.

Hits I got on your rom comes back as mtk6575, [Only registered and activated users can see links Click here to register]
Hi WuddaWaste

Yes I was also very confused with so different information about mobile cpu so at the end I can't beleive noone Smiling

About GPS I reallyty everything lost about 3-4 evenings trying everything what I got on web.
But in any cases with no program I don't get even one sattelite so this is really strange.
I mean on program I should get those red dots (on second photo-not from my mobile) about sattelites which later become green but in my case noone.

Photo from net what I would expect to get when I start GPS test program

Yes mobile has google play access so I will try this Titaniom backup so then I hope

I could update installed Antutu with newer one which would give me more accurate result.

& your news are not bad still I need mobile model to progress with this and try to put my GPS into life Smiling

He he he yes I pay a beast and I got a beast Smiling
I know this results on Antutu were costumize and this is aslo the reason why I can't upadte Antutu still
It looks as it ios not 2 core but at least 4 core and really 1.7GHz cpu so results should be OK for such CPU.
I will try tu install new version of Antutu and then post more real results

look here resutls which shows this is even only 2 core CPU?

I really doubt you have a quad core, that kernel is a pre 3.1 kernel eg a ICS kernel at most is supports a dual core, if you have cw recovery installed and can adb in recovery mode, let me know.
Well It is a challenge for me to know what I buy Smiling
As every program says different...
For now I am sure only as CPU is not 64bit and not 16core Smiling

And I still don't know which model do I have and if there is some other ROM which i could try and with that hope as GPS would start wo work Sad

I could test this and if this will work I will publish that screen capture.
I don't know what is being used on your phone to fake results, that's why running commands in recovery mode is much better, as 99% all stuff has been stopped so hard to fake in recovery mode.

anyway if you have adb setup, you can run a few commands and post results, we can see if these commands get correct output or not, these can be faked in desktop mode which your phone is currently in, but run commands and post output anyway.

Code:
adb shell ls /sys/devices/system/cpu/

Code:
adb shell cat /sys/devices/system/cpu/present

Code:
adb shell cat /sys/devices/system/cpu/cpu*/cpufreq/scaling_max_freq

99% chance you have an HDC.

To fix all of your problems, including google play, you will need a complete backup of the firmware.

Ideally, you will not have to do all of this as you will find out (as pointed out by the poster above) exactly what you have in advance.

Once you have a good backup, get yourself to needrom. Look for the HDC clones that are just like yours with MTK6589. Just be aware that these phones can also contain a dual core processor, so if none of the 6589 ROMs work, and you don't know what you have, you may need to continue with dual cores.

At this point, you will also want to find a SIGNED version of gapps12, assuming you want your google play services to work.

Now, hopefully through this process you will discover a ROM that works perfectly. If you do, then mark it for future reference.

Now, you will want to nuke your phone with the ROM that works and install gapps12
BEFORE the phone boots. Do your setup as normal and you should be good to go.

It is time consuming, but not that hard if you do your research first.

Just remember that if you decide to go on this quest, get your phone to detect 100% (no hardware errors or unknown devices of any kind) on your computer. Have gapps12 already downloaded, have your ROM(s) already downloaded, have a notebook listing exactly what you are doing and which files have/have not worked.

Don't forget to post a follow-up!
