awesome. i can't wait to try this. thanks gizbeat!
Does this rooting method works for all mtk 6589 chipset ?
I would like to try this method on my HDC note 2 .
Thank you
My best guess is that it would work. All this does is replace the stock recovery.

The ADB drivers should be standard as well.

The root is just a matter of getting CWM recovery on there so you can get access to injecting the root privileges.

Of course don't come back and cuss me out if the phone gets bricked Big Grin

Please report back with your results if you try it.
i think the HDC note 2 is also an ZP810/H7500+ clone/oem. much like the hero one... it could work..

I've tried .I'm using the latest flash tool and there is an error saying the "fail to initiliaze .Scatter file fail"
Any ideas how to get through this
hmmm... at what stage are you getting the error? when you load the scatter file, or 'at the point of no return'?
I have tried to install the driver on Win7 64 bit, but my H7500+ is not recognized as "Android Phone --> Android ADB". Device manager shows "Other Devices --> ZP800H" with yellow exclaimation mark. Please advice.

Hmm.... Showing zp800h shouldn't be a problem, but the exclamation mark likely will be.

Try to update the 7500+ drivers from device manager. Point the location to the Win 7 folder in the drivers folder.

Also can try,

From Device Manager, uninstall the driver and remove device from system. Then install the drivers downloaded from here and plug in the phone again.
I came up to the green circle but when I try to enter recovery can not.
power button + volume up but I turn on the phone.

i have a hero h7500+.
