Hey Guys

Hope you can help me. I made a backup with a newish CWM. I changed my recovery to an older version of CWM. I just tested a restore attempt.
---it found all my restore files
I chose the latest backup folder

it claimed a failure with

Quote:error in restoring system

Do you think this is because it was made with a more recent CWM or do you think my older version is faulty.

I am trying and testing an older version as I have a friend whose size of recovery is tiny and can't use the most recent one. If I can get this older version to work properly I will mod it for him, maybe.....maybe not.

2) That nasty error on reboot got me into a boot loop thingee

I got out of it by going back into recovery mode/wipe data/wipe cache/install zip from zip card/chose a full rom zippy file

full reboot was good/then flashed back to my real CWM
then into recovery and restored /and its all good dudes

good stuff eh?

The different versions of CWM backups are normally not compatible with each other. eg, backups from 6.0.4.4 not compatible with 5.5

I plan to do a test today when I have time

reflash 5.5
do a full backup using 5.5
instead of reboot....wipe etc and flash full rom
reboot to test in full rom
reboot to 5.5 and do a restore

If I don't get the same error....we are sweeeet.
If I do get error the error may lie with me
