Includes device testing and settings changes. This can also be accessed through mobile uncle tools, but to access directly dial *#*#3646633#*#*

Root not required
This doesn't work for me. As soon as I type the last "*" the number just disappears and doesn't do anything. Any other tips?

mmm... As soon as you type the last *, it should be going into engineering mode.

Download "Mobile Uncle Tools" from the Play store and see if you can access it from that app.
Hi AndroidVageta,
i had the same problem with DW Phone.
If I use the original Phone App (installed from the System/app/) the
code *#*#3646633#*#* is running.

Once in the eng mode can changes be made to select a different band? say from 850 to 1700 ? or is there something else to do?
See [Only registered and activated users can see links Click here to register] regarding frequencies. There's a bunch of other stuff you can do in there - diagnostics, GPS tweaks, sound tweaks and more.
I can access to my Bedove X21 with MobileUncleTool or entering *#15963#*
confirm MIUI 5 doesn't work either with *#*#3646633#*#* or Mobile Uncle Tool to access the engineering mode
Works fine on Dapeng i9977 and most likely the HDC Galaxy Note i9977.
Works well with my Samsung Note 2 clone......MT6575 processor.......
