Hi all, I am new here. I have Pomp C6S phone with MT6592 CPU and no removable battery. Yesterday by mistake I brick my phone (I ran memory test in SPFT).

Now my phone is detected as Mediatek DA USB VCOM port. I tried different button combination when plugging the USB cable but still detected as Mediatek DA USB VCOM port.

I have the original stock ROM for this phone, but when I try to download it using SPFT with Mediatek DA USB VCOM port driver, SPFT does not recognize this phone and keep on searching, the red progress bar stuck at 0%.

I cannot remove the battery of this phone, so is that also a problem?

How can I change the phone into META / PreLoader mode?
If the progress bar comes up at all (as opposed to 'searching', it means the driver is fine. Its supposed to come up as USB VCOM. Thats how it communicates with the phone)

Did you try all options in the fix SP Flash Tool problem thread?

I'd recommend a format prior to installing the ROM if all other options fail. After format you will need to use 'download'. Not update firmware.

Thanks for your quick response

I ended up by disassembling the phone and disconnect the battery connector, in this case, the device is detected as MTK PreLoader instead of USB VCOM and I downloaded the firm ware succesfully.

But next time if I have to download the firmware using SPFT again I don't know how to download without disassembling the phone and disconnecting the battery connector... Quite inconvenient...

I think you will find all pre-loaders for MTK are made by Mediatek as per image

and if you search [Only registered and activated users can see links Click here to register]

for string = MT65xx Preloader you will see only one hit

Quote: make or Vendor id= 0e8d MediaTek Inc
model = 2000

Of course your model number may differ but I have seen this model number on at least 2 MTK devices

Yes its doesn't help those with inbuilt batteries.
