Not even one. Of course it starts with about 10-12 sat from EPO - AGPS but it gets no signal at all. Zero signal for each sat. When I force a cold start from Galaxy S, I generally have at least one sat signal after 30''. I'll open the damn thing tomorrow morning, enough with software niceties, tomorrow is the day of brute force. I really thank you for your advices!!

Hope you get it fixed. Let us know the result.

Brute force and ignorance is not (always) the best solution. Opened the phone, on top side of the board is the gps/wifi/bt antenna connection and the flash-led connection. The board-side of the flash connection has 2 flat plates (up-right) that correspond to 2 connectors on the internal cover. Now, the gps/wifi/bt board side (up-left) has 1 flat surface and 2 connectors. The 2 connectors correspond to a wide flat surface on the internal cover, where the antenna is allocated. There is no connector on the cover that would correspond to the flat surface of the board. So now the question is, should there be something more on the cover? Searched, with no results, for analogous photos of phones. I closed the phone, and I tried the gps inserting a short piece of wire that hopefully would make contact with the free flat connection on the board. No change on the signal quality of BT or WiFi, but nothing changed with the GPS reception.
I think I'll give up, enough time spent on a mentally challenged phone.
Hi

I have the same phone. And also GPS problem. Wifi signal is ok. But when i use GPS test i get eventualy a lock. But after a few minutes the signal is lost. I contacted the webshop. And after a week a got a reply that the factory engineers do not know what the problem is, and that i have to send it back to them.

I'm stil thinking about it, becouse chipment to china is expensive from here.

If you get a lock you're way better than me. Pls open phone and compare antennas' photo. Are they identical?

You're wright, shipment cost excessive. I kept the phone and I managed to have a 30$ partial refund from seller.
I have the same problem with the gps. My phone is an feiteng h9500+ from geekbuying. Ones I had a fix but after a coupel of minutes the fix was lost. This was with the factory rom. I think it is a driver isue not the hardware. Crying

Ok, where i got the phone, they told me i had to send it back. But my shipping cost where about 1/3 of the phone. So i opend it up. I did some testing and i came up with a solution with some copper tape. A used a tape from te connection from the gps to the connection of the earphone jack becouse it is visible with the back on. ( extention of te contact ) from there i did some test and for the moment i use the result as in the photo becouse i lay my phone in landscape mode with te usb connection to the right when i use my GPS.

A few tips:

- dont make the tape to small ( to big at the end is not good eighter )
- do a Ohm test to see if the tape is connected to the other tape.
- cover up the place where the old antenna connects. 2 antanna's is not good.
- the second connection is not used for the gps. Dont know for what it is.

PROBLEM SOLVED!!!! with the last ROM (Needrom - Star N9500 05/27/2013 2:40 am). It was a software-firmware problem after all. I've tried all the previous ROM updates with no results. This last one made the difference, even if it seems to use the same stock ROM of older versions. No need of engineer mode or faster gps, just loaded EPO and satellites got fixes in less than a minute. Now, even with cold start, fixes come promptly and stay there. Sygic works perfectly well even under trees with heavy foliage and city streets.
Same problem for my new ALPS N9500 JB 4.2.1 Kernel 3.4.5 rooted ROM N9500_20130517..bitlow really
