Hi

Recently a member advised something and I thought I would make a movie to prove fastboot is an option.

Unfortunately you need a way to get into fastboot if your device is in a boot loop etc and I have not yet found that way for my device.

Instead I downloaded an app called quickboot, boot phone into bootloader mode and it took me into fastboot without a menu. I suspect this is because the Official ROM and custom roms for this phone are all faulty.

Windows and Linux users can use various commands to do things. I am only showing 2 simple commands on a mediatek device.

Code:
fastboot devices
fastboot reboot

good luck

ADD
Code:
fastboot reboot-bootloader
rebooting into bootloader...
OKAY [  0.003s]
finished. total time: 0.003s

On my actual Android I am now in bootloader mode and can choose fastboot if I wish.

EDIT
I removed my udev rule and refreshed.....fastboot still works so you don't need any Windows or Linux PC driver.

good luck
Just tried it (again), and none of my mediatek devices booted to fastboot or bootloader.
They boot normaly to system. There is no fastboot mode in mediatek devices, which device do you have?

Leagoo Lead1 has fastboot that's how we rooted it via unlocking bootloader in fastboot.
hi
post one says install quickboot
then run it to boot into bootloader from there hopefully you will have to option to select fastboot.......but you still need to find a way in if boot loop

2) some devices use vol up and down with power.....but that is not the theme here. Ask your seller or google it pls
I have removed my content for post one discussing Linux and Windows drivers.
I had an udev rule......and just discovered, by removing it, that fastboot still works.

Therefore, if you can find any way of getting in......you may well have a method of unbricking.

EDIT2
I read I should be able to run
fastboot getvar secure
and see if it is secure=yes (or no) but its missing instead I use the all

Code:
fastboot getvar all

Strange that secure is not showing. Me thinks I need to learn how to mod it.

google gave me only 2 hits for VANZO82_WET_JB5
and one for a scatter file showing snippet only
Quote:partition_index: SYS8
partition_name: UBOOT
file_name: lk.bin

this is a custom ROM so we can guess they did not change everything.
TODO research how to make a
factory cable or buy one off ebay

This special cable supplies power without the battery inserted.

EDIT
2 repair shops and one supply shop deny all knowledge of a fastboot or factory cable.

I know I might have to see if I can short pin 1 and 4 but that won't help everyone else so is not the best long term solution

EDIT 2
ok making a query with a shop I found that may or may not be micro-usb
so you can't jump the line, its shop name I acronym as TBH
seller confirms its a micro-usb to micro-usb adapter
Have ordered one ETA about 3 weeks from today
cost $20
Did you ever manage to get one of these mystery "factory cables"?
I'm looking for the same thing, but nobody really knows if it exists!
