is there any Other way to fix IMEI Issue with the operator. IMEI is fine, its having two distinguished IMEI numbers. The IMEI series is 863000

It doesn't have NULL or corrupted IMEI numbers.
Hello, welcome to the forum.

Here are a couple of tools and information on how to generate a valid one.
First just try looking for one that works on a friend's phone and change the last two digits. Often the network operator doesn't care if the check digit works out. If that doesn't work, here are a couple of tools to help generate a proper one.

http://imei-number.com/imei-validation-check/
http://lazyzhu.com/imei-generator/
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/IMEI#Check_digit_computation

You can write the new IMEI with MTK Droid Tools (should be rooted)

or try:

> Engineer mode keypad, *#*#3646633#*#*)
> Connectivity tab
> CDS information
> Radio Information
> Phone 1: at+ egmr = 1,7, "IMEI1"
> Phone 2: at+ egmr = 1,10, "IMEI2"

A big Thank you Gizbeat
I have now changed my IMEI and its now working fine. I have changed IMEI using Engineering Mode. Its the best way to resolve this. those IMEI sites are very usefull to find a new and better IMEI

Thanks a lot for steps. After changing IMEI in Engg mode, how to save it?

It should save it automatically. When you reboot your phone and look in Settings > About phone > Status > IMEI to see if the new IMEI is sticking.

Hi,

After entering new IMEI # in Step 6, how to save it. I am wondering how to save the new IMEI number in Engg mode. Please help. Hitting on Engineer Mode – Engineer Mode (MTK) – Connectivity(Tab) – CDS Information – Radio Information – Phone 1 – AT+ to AT+EGMR=1,7,”New IMEI#” – SEND AT COMMAND(Button)

Getting the message “This command is not allowed in UserBuild” … and old IMEI stays.

Pls hlp. Image attached. After entering new IMEI (AT+EGMR=1,7,”New IMEI#”), how to save it???

Thanks,
Joe
Hi Spljoe, I'm making a video of how to change IMEI on China phones another way if you're getting “This command is not allowed in UserBuild”. The build of your firmware will not allow changing through this method. It's a common problem with the newer phone models.

For this new method, you will need to be
  1. rooted
  2. ADB drivers installed
  3. USB debugging enabled
  4. MTK Droid Tools downloaded (see tools forum for that).

If you get through all those steps:

  5. attach phone to PC with USB
  6. MTK Droid Tools bottom-left square should be yellow and say "SU" is accessible if properly rooted.
  7. click "Root" in MTK Droid Tools in bottom-right corner
  8. allow any SU permission requests on your phone
  9. MTK Droid Tools bottom left corner square should turn green
  10. click "IMEI/NVRAM" button
  11. put your new IMEI in
  12. click "okay" to change
  13. click reboot in bottom-right of MTK Drood Tools
  14. wait for phone to fully reboot
  15. look at IMEI in MTK Droid Tools, it should be as you changed it

Thanks a lot for your time. Really appreciate it. I tried the engg mode, Mobile Uncle. But I do not know how to save the new IMEI in there.

WIll wait for your video. But steps u provided seems clear and clean. Will try Droid Tools. I already have root access. Only the new IMEI I should enter. I will try and get back to you at the earliest.
Yes, I saw this the first time you wrote it. As I said, you won't be able to use that method. You will need to use the method as I outlined. You can wait for the video, but if you're already rooted, it's very simple. Just follow the steps above.

If this is confusing at all, just be patient, I should have a video tutorial up in about 2 hours.

Sure. Why not! Even iPhone is made in China. That's why I bought a China phone first place. This is a good piece of gadget till now. I got one more issue with the mic or speaker while using Skype in loudspeaker mode. Lot of noise. Noise reduction is not handled in this phone? or can we do something about it? Mine is MPai 809T MTK 6592 Octa Core phone.

Any ways, it's not so urgent. I'm back with my family now. Otherwise I have to use some other phone or laptop for Skype.! May be I need to open a new thread for that issue.

Thanks again.

Regards,
Joe
