Hi all,

I've got a chinese tablet, the Build number is ALPS.JB2.MP.V1.25.

I want to root this tablet because I've got a sd card with 32 GB and it keep storing all the apps in the internal memory.

Using MTK Droid 2.5.3 I get the following information:

Hardware : MT6589 (MT8389 is Fake!)
Model : MX3QC3G
Build number : ALPS.JB2.MP.V1.25
Build date UTC : 20131205-112524
Android v : 4.2.2
Baseband v: MOLY.WR8.W1248.MD.WG.MP.V22.P1, 2013/11/12 19:32
Kernel v : 3.4.5 (android@ubuntu) (gcc version 4.6.x-google 20120106 (prerelease) (GCC) ) #1 SMP Thu Dec 5 20:19:31 CST 2013

So, if I search for a rooting tool that supports MT6589, I'm ready to root the tablet?

Is this process reversible (If I need to send back to the factory)?
What rooting tool do you prefer?

Thanks
Start with framaroot apk. Its in the root tools section. If it doesn't work, try vroot. Also in the root tools section.

Returning the phone for warranty will depend upon the policies of the shop.

focus on the big picture not the warranty.

you have a fake. take photos and immediately contact seller and demand a refund.
The OP seems not to care so much about this fact. Or at least its not the focus of the question.

Its not like running down to Boots and complaining. Its a big process and can sometimes take months and often the refund or exchange won't happen at all after all that time.

Some people prefer to just take the hit and move on. If the tablet is otherwise fine, the OP didn't pay huge $$$ for it, and its not stressing him, just moving on is the best course of action.

Hi,

in Portugal we have an exchange period in most stores if I'm not happy with the product as long as I keep all the items in the original box, I can exchange it.

Honestly I didn't mind that because I read that MT8389 is the cell phone equivalent of the MT6589 for tablets, but after looking at the cpu information I've found that the cpu should be 1.5 GHz but its only 1.2 GHz, so, this is basically a supplier cheating their clients.

Thanks for the warning, honestly I though that the software was simply misinforming me.

I already asked my money back, thanks again
