Hi all,

Please help.
I have Lenove A916 (i think t's relatively new) MTK6592 LTE.

I was able to get root via VROOT 1.7.3
But then because of su binary seems to be outdated and SuperSu cant seem to uninstall it ...

i unroot. using VROOT again.
to be safe i re-root and it is ok.
Then i unroot.

Then i want to try RootGenius... Click... and it failed to root.
Several retry still failed.

and to my horror, i tried VROOT again it is now failed.
then i tried everything
framaroot
kingo
Motochopper_Auto_Root
eRoot
root_cleaner.zip
rootmaster (english rootgenius)
until CWM recovery followed with CWM-SuperSU-v0.75.zip also failed
note: superSU_2.02.rar seems to be corrupted and not flashable
and yes MTKDroid get root button also failed..

any idea how to get out of this mess?
please...

Thanjs
Flash your backup or stock ROM for your phone and start from the beginning again.
Quote:note: superSU_2.02.rar seems to be corrupted and not flashable

or it could be that user thinks he can flash from a rar file?

unpack it to a zip file please.

alternatively download a ready made zip altho its an older version, if it installs then go to playstore to update

Ya that happened lol.
But no. i un rar it eventually. the zip insiide is broken at least the one i redownloaded 3x with filename superSU_2.02.rar

@cookiedough
thats the thing, as i was easily getting the first root, i was not expecting to get stuck in this situation. so i didnt have a clean ROM backup.

My usual sequence is
getting root (if hadn't).
Install CWM recov
Full backup
then make custom rom baselines

Root stuck after re-root is something never experienced before.
Something screw up in the System partition.
sighhh

any more advise is appreciated.
or if anyone have a A916 original ROM.
See the baked date... fresh from oven.

Find an uncorrupt superuser. Install from CWM. If it doesn't work, you will likely need to flash a backup or stock ROM and start over again.

Also, what thread did you download superuser from? Kind of difficult for them to fix it if not having the link.
@aus9
that zip is ok. can use. and runt hrough all Done.
but i still cant get root back.

with or without wipe is the same.
Something the RootGenius did cause my system partition to be root-blocked
Sad
you can install that zip from CWM,
click on install zip
and follow the prompts to get to sdcard and that zip that you have installed at base of sdcard.

2) your root tool is windows can't help see my signature
good news...
managed to come out from my half rooted zombie state.

these two saved the day
first i managed to find a clean su binary, and install from cwm,
su-bin-3.1.1-arm-signed.zip

then i use this supersu install from cwm, this one i download from official website (i think)
UPDATE-SuperSU-v2.14.zip

lol i download and try so many possibilities.
I somehow knew that i am half rooted as my ES Explorer can navigate to /system.
But inserting back su and busybox binaries are what blocks me.
most of those shell scripts does not pass the zombie state.

thanks for all the help.
lesson learnt to spf backup first before do anything. maybe i make a walkthrough later.
will ask some more stuffs, as this is the first MT659x device i had.
and behaviour of certain tools are weird.

oh... i think this is where i say i get the corrupted supersu. from sniper post.
at least from my two download attempt.
