Nice article. I'm posting here because I think my question is connected with the topic. I recently got a Doogee DG580 and now I'm having some issues when using an SD card. I cannot install or move applications there (but that seems to be an android issue) and the applications are anyway not seeing the SD card. The phone storage space is really limited and I'm already reaching the limit.
Using the SD card for storage would improuve the phone a lot. One example is the HERE maps application beta that is not able to download maps on the SD card. This is for sure a problem of the phone because the application is able to save the maps on the SD card.

Any suggestion? I read around that rooting the device will unlock the possibility to install applications on the SD card but the rooting of the DG580 is not possible as far as I know.
I assume you are meaning the external TF SD card. If so, this is normal.

If you root, you can swap so Android uses external TF SD, but its not always an easy process.

You can also change partition sizes by modifying EBR so you have more space on internal storage.
Hi Gio,

The 2GB provided for internal storage on stock ROM is standard for any 8GB phone.

I also have a DG580. You CAN move apps without root to phone storage. But only SOME apps are moveable and it will still keep some of the moved apps in Dalvik on internal storage regardless. Again, this is normal. Try AppMgr III by Sam Lu.

As mentioned by @cookiedough you can also try modifying your EBR to give you a bigger internal storage.

Rooting and swapping storage to external SD can help, but its a tricky solution and can sometimes be quite difficult.
Happy 2 hear that, as I too have the DG 580. However, none of my apps can be moved to SD Card. I would appreciate an advice not saying "try..." but "I tried and it worked".
