Heat-conducting plastic: 10 times better than conventional counterparts

The spaghetti-like internal structure of most plastics makes it hard for them to cast away heat, but a research team has made a plastic blend that does so 10 times better than its conventional counterparts.

Smartphones desperately need technology like these because they usually overheat when doing energy-sapping tasks like playing 3D games - the internal components and batteries don't do so well when hot.

It's quite encouraging to see that this new plastic can be easily manufactured with conventional methods. That means it can be cheap to manufacture and a low cost of making the plastic will bring it closer to the average consumer.
