New material makes water and oil roll off

Car finish, to which no dirt particles adhere, house fronts, from which graffiti paints roll off, and shoes that remain clean on muddy paths – the material “fluoropore” might make all this possible. Both water and oil droplets roll off this new class of highly fluorinated super-repellent polymers.

Isn't this the same as nano-coating or am I missing something here? What's wrong with nano-coating for similar applications?
@athos ?
As I remember it, nano-coating tech is all about certain chemical deposition techniques, using fluorocarbons as coating materials.
I think this funded study is focused on researching new materials (development of fluoropores) that would extend to oil repellant characteristics. Then perhaps this new material would then be used in the nanocoating tech. Dunno
