Hello.

I have bought this phone below just a few weeks ago from a china shop. See link below. (It is a mtk6592 type S6)
It is working just well. No problems. [Only registered and activated users can see links Click here to register]

I will like to root it and put a custom rom in it, but I can’t set debug mode on.
Tapping on the build number or anything else, that I have tried helps not.

Can someone tell me what I have to do, to set the debugging mode on.
I have now android 4.3 and wants to go to 4.4.2 or 4.4.4?

I need to set debug mode before I can root the phone and make a backup of my firm rom and finaly flash a custom rom.

Kind regards,
kkr.

It sounds like you know what you're doing. I'm surprised it isn't working.

In general, the process is as follows:
1. Unlock Developer Options
2. Go to Developer Options
3. Tick the box

You've already repeated clicked on Build Number. Do you have Settings > Developer Options as an option? If so, what do you see in there?

Hello WuddaWaste.
Yes, but can only set debug when connecting USB on/off. Nothing else.
I can't root when I can't set the debut mode on. That is my problem.

I have tried tapping the number with different speeds, but no menu.
I don't think I understand your problem.

The only Debug Mode option I'm aware of is usually phrased as"USB debugging: debug mode when USB is connected".

It sounds like you have that already, and it is ticked. Is there something else you're trying to do?

Sorry if I sound totally obtuse. I'm just trying to understand.
OK.
If I already have the right set for debug mode on........and USB too, I still can't root the phone.
I have tried with Framaroot and Z4root, but they wont do.
I think I need to find a way to root it before I can use USB connection and begin to use "MTK Tool" kit.

I have installed "PDAnet ADB Auto-Driver For Windows" and tried some other versions, but it doesn't help. No connections.

Thanks, kkr.
