Meteos MTK6589 ROM EDIT

This app will allow you to change your phone's data partition size.
Since most people have a MicroSD card for storing their files on, the internal sdcard is just a waste of space and can be put to good use for storing apps;
This app allows you to do so.

Requirements:
  • A MT6589 device
  • Root access
  • A custom recovery

YOU ARE DOING THIS ON YOUR OWN RISK
(Although no serious harm can be done when correctly using this tool)

Instructions:
  1. Make a backup of your files in your recovery (if you want to preserve them) and make sure they are stored on the external sdcard.
  2. Download, install and start the Meteos app for your specific ROM size and choose your desired Data partition size.
  3. Press "Reboot into Recovery" and choose "'Wipe data/Factory Reset" on CWM or Wipe internal storage on TWRP.
  4. Restore your backup.
  5. Profit.

I wouldn't know if the app is modified by someone for this or if the current app will be sufficient, I'll have a look at it once I've returned from vacation (in about 2 weeks).

Thank you so much for your help! Will wait for your great news. I am now installing all my apps in the internal memory.
Wish you have a happy vacation!
Max, will this tool work for 6575/6577 devices?

Edit: no. I got "error parsing the file".
I used this tool on my 32gb i6000. I decided to go with a 4gb partition. It gave me a 4gb partition, but i lost the rest of the space. The internal phone storage isn't there anymore. I tried to click "mount phone storage", it flashes for a split second then unmounts itself.
Hmm...

Bert, have you tried formatting storage? Not mount, but format.

I formatted emmc in CWM, as the instructions said to do. The instructions also said if you don't do it that way, you can repair the "damaged" sd card from android... but when I turned the phone on, nothing came up about it being damaged.
So it's formatting okay can be seen by CWM, but can't mount and not seen by android, and we're talking about internal phone storage, not your external SD card... Correct?

Can your PC see it when you connect via USB?
Thanks Giz.
I plugged the phone in, turned on USB storage, and what do you know... a popup that says I need to format the drive before I can use it. Done.

Now I have 4gb (3.94) for apps, and 24.26gb phone storage. Loooooooove this phone.
