They have a way better grasp on things now. Yes, definitely, development of Win 10 will be accelerated if offered as free. People will be less reluctant to make the shift, and bugs will be reported faster. Software developers will have a field day, especially if tinkering with Android has grown a bit monotonous for them.
To have your own Cortana is indeed very exciting. It's not the newest idea, obviously, but to feel like Master Chief issuing commands and stuff. Yeah, that would seriously trump muttering Ok, Google...
They have a lot of stuff going on here. The headset is interesting, advertised to be for entertainment purposes but name-dropped NASA working on it makes it sound quite diverse, serious, and promising. Seems they are seriously hanging on to Halo...Spartan browser. Thank crap they've given up on IE. Xbox streaming across all platforms might do a lot of good for the console. They've seriously been struggling against Sony... Good thinking to exploit the popularity of Windows -- Even if the PS4 does the same with Xperia phones, Windows PCs are just really everywhere so Microsoft has a huge advantage here.
