Over on we now have a selection of Roms for our phones... Mine was Caesar a9600 with ZP900H upgrade.
Many are still at android 4.1.2, but 2 good looking ones are available on jelly bean 4.2.1, but be warned, both have issues!!!!
The first one is similar to what I am working away at - please don't ask when it is going to be ready... I have no clue what i am doing, but I got wallpaper program working
, plus odd things here and there - It been a Samsung Galaxy 4 kind of Rom.
It is quite good, I used it today while at a friends house and everyone from 16 year to 40+ asked if it was a Samsung or Note, etc...
It will not convince everyone obviously.... but that is not the point... if you like the Samsung system this is as close you will get for now.
There is one great problem with this ROM, it has NO WI-FI.... I tried all I could to get it to work, no joy!!!
If I knew the wi-fi program maybe I could copy it over and get it to work, i would then be able to make a ROM if someone let me in on the way, because nothing works for me so far... I can make something to work for me, but not anything I could confidently pass to others to flash.
THE NEXT ROM - it's LEWA...
I never seen such good looking ROM on my phone before, I love this ROM and really wish I could keep it... If i understood Chinese maybe I could alter it, unfortunately that is not my biggest problem with this ROM.
As I say I would really like to stay with this one, my first challenge is the Chinese Apps and language, both are ingrained into the system, most will not be removed.
I can accept that in many areas and to be honest the important parts are mainly readable English, if not totally English.... In the system, this phone has great English, but the apps and widgets let it down....
Don't get me wrong, I would not mind little bits of Chinese here and there, but many apps do not allow you to change the language at all ( if they do, its in Chinese and I would not see it).
What I think is the biggest issue here is :
You can not install GAPPS (Google Apps), or at least I should be able to install PLAY STORE... without it you have a Chinese App Store, with no English.
If I try to install GAPPS, I get a continued loop of dialog boxes, complete with only 'OK' buttons telling me something from gapps has stopped
This ROM I would love to bits if I understood the language, and had play store, the first ROM I mentioned wouldn't last long on my phone, but I am in the middle of creating a Samsung ROM myself, I got the parts, most apks are done and the boot screen.
I'm just looking into how to change logo.bin, to get rid of that Zopo logo, it doesn't look like its easy. Once that done I will test on my phone, after that I have no idea how to make it into a rom, so more reading for me.
Hope you enjoy these ROMs I mention, just remember, they have huge failings.
Don't be looking forward to my ROM either, its the first attempt for me and I like things to be right... As for the tutorials I said I'd work on, they are way off in the future
