MLAIS M9 Review – $86 MT6592M 1GB RAM OTG OGS

mlais-m9-review-IMG_5244MLAIS is one of the older China phone brands. They have a good name in China and a loyal following, but have done very little marketing and promotion outside of China. With the M9, MLAIS has come with an interesting phone — a thin, sub-$100 mobile with an MT6592M SoC. MLAIS M9 review inside, build and […]

this is amazing!!! $86 for an MT6592. even if it is a lower clocking it still 8-core and in the same range of other MT6582 phones
Very good review. I think I may order two.
Gizbeat, I really dig the review, man. Great work. I especially dig the "conclusion summary" at the end. Great to look at, easy to read.
Thanks @"tiefighter_85" @"itboom" @"Wuddawaste" for taking the time to comment. Much appreciated.
I've just taken delivery of mine. It's amazingly light and the screen is lovely and responsive. I've rooted it (KingoRoot) because I couldn't tolerate the very loud boot sound (now disabled) and now I'm battling with Talkmobile who want to charge me a fiver to swap my standard sim for a micro sim!

But more intractable is a problem with app storage; it seems that there is no way of moving apps to the micro SD card. I've tried several cards to no avail. I have the SD card set as default storage but still the apps land in Phone Storage, some with the option to move to Internal Storage (or was that the other way round?) but no SD option. After some settings tweaks, the camera is now storing photos on the SD.

A google search indicates that with some phones this is a deliberate characteristic of the software but I can't find any prior reference to this being the case with the M9. Can anyone throw any light on this, please?
Yes, it could be the way Android is set up. Have you tried something like this app

Hi and and thanks for your reply. Yes, that's my standard app management app. It only gives me the option to move the apps to the phone storage. K
Yes, then its something to do with the path setups or limitations of the ROM. You can try experimenting using different system.IMG, but the limitation could be set somewhere else... In the kernel etc..
