China and US clash over backdoors

China rejects President Obama's criticism of its attempt to make companies put backdoors in their software and share their encryption keys.

This is nothing more than a push to get rid of US companies doing business in China all together.

To put it simply they don't Fn want anyone making business they can do themselves. The same goes for banning Facebook and YouTube and the like. It's not for "censorship" purposes. This has nothing to do with it. It's so they can allow Chinese to create the same billion $$$ businesses.

China needs to take a good hard look at their own companies *ahem* MediaTek *ahem* regarding revealing source code and such.
This does make me a bit paranoid about Chinese devices. If they control both the hardware and software side of the devices, it's entirely possible for a backdoor to be implemented across brands/models with very little chance of detection.
