Pretty simple really, I just flashed the stock rom on needroms.com using a different computer (Windows 7 rather than Windows XP running via a VMWare).
Now I have a brand-new LG Nexus 4 that I don't need any more :-)
Note to others DO NOT flash a ROM on your phone that is made for another phone and ALWAYS backup before flashing!
Hi Mayhem,
I have been following your posts for a while as I have had basically the same problem as you did after rooting and deleting a weather widget that seemed to actually be built into the kernel/ROM. I have an ihtc one which I think is actually the same phone, I bought it from Fastcardtech but am fairly certain that they lied about some of the specs and it is a HDC one (it's a MTK6589 regardless, same screen size and buttons).
I have an issue where the phone will boot to homescreen, and then after a few seconds will reboot itself, rinse and repeat. I tried using the default recovery mode to reset to factory mode, but that was unsuccessful in solving the problem.
I'm basically preparing to try and flash the rom from needroms but I wanted to check with you which of the methods you used, as there seem to be a few comments saying the instructions are wrong, but noone seems to have great English there. I'm also a bit confused about the packages, I downloaded the flash-tool but was wondering which other tools I needed to grab, as the instructions only mention the flashtools zip.
Any help would be greatly appreciated, sorry if this double posts, I tried refreshing a few times but my other reply didn't seem to post.
Thanks
