the problem is that the disconnecting/connecting appear on linux log (so is not a windows problem).

maybe ur OS doesnt have the correct mtkpreloader drivers? thats the case for me and im on windows 7, but i cant seem to get the right drivers

I don't know (on my old samsung i9003 i always used cmw to flash the roms :-) )

yeah, same, im not too experienced with sp flash tool, however a few of m firends have chinesee phones so ive seen it before, i also briefl owned a goophone i5c for a month or two, although i have to admit i didnt like it , too little like android and too much like ios for my tatse
but yeah finding drivers that work, thats the hard part, after that sp flash tool is as easy as pie

I tried sp flashtool under wine but nothing... Today i post the log of linux with the cellphone (turn off) connected so you could see that is a problem of "linux" and not of virtualbox itself..

hmmm :/ well sorry i cant help you with that, best of luck though? maybe use a friends computer to flash 1.08 with sp flash tools? or if i manage to get it on il try to make an update.zip file for you
