‘OS-Agnostic’ Phones from Alcatel

Alcatel is making an appearance at CES 2015, and they will be announcing their latest smartphones from the Pixi 3 series.

Their line of thinking on the development of these phones is mostly in the direction of the convenience of the users. They are also taking into account the diversity of smartphone users’ tastes.

The Pixi 3 series will come with models that have screen sizes ranging from 3.5” to 5.0”. The 3.5” model has network support that extends to 3G, similar to the first Pixi model. The larger, 4.0”, 4.5”, and 5.0”, versions get up to 4G coverage for network support.

‘OS-agnostic’ phones will offer users the option to get the phone running with Android OS, Firefox OS, or Windows OS

Furthermore, the ‘OS-agnostic’ phones will offer users the option to get the phone running with Android OS, Firefox OS, or Windows OS. There is no reason to doubt that Alcatel is capable of this because they have successfully released smartphones that use these OSes.

The internal specifications of the phones will be known later on, after the official announcement at CES. Alcatel will most likely keep the phones at an affordable price, so we definitely cannot expect monster hardware packed into the Pixis. Perhaps minimalistic and entry level specs would be the safer expectation, of course, surprises are always welcome.

These devices will still be released under the Alcatel brand, despite their recent acquisition of HP’s Palm trademark.
