What Is the best bugdget phablet out there this year?
Im looking to upgrade..my last two phones were inew v3 and doogeeDG800..
I would like a 6" octacore Kitkat and with a good camera of aperture 2.0 or better,
Perhaps one that falls in below $300.
The umi cross specs are outdated and There was supposed to be a LTE 4g model coming out?
I really like a philips model i908 but thats not available in china yet. and tbh its over my budget, there should be a few in india or china for around $200, I just cant find any new ones, this year is all about 5" flagship models it seems.

the Lenovo Vibe Z K910 is available now at around 280USD because the new model is coming
has the best camera of the bunch, f/1.8 and "Super night mode"
5.5 inch FullHD 1080p
Dual Sim Dual Active (not standby, meaning both lines are always open)
sadly only 16GB and no SD card support.
of course no Octacore, it has a Qualcomm Snapdragon Quad.
Huawei Honor 6 LTE Dual Sim is probably too expensive, but would fit also,
has the Highsilicone Kirin CPU which is comparable to the Snapdragon 801
in 5 inch you have lots more choice, like the Xiaomi MI3 64GB, that should come in at around 300 USD as well, but only Single SIM if that matters for you.
there are many really interesting phones out right now, and many more to come in the near future.

I absolutely love my THL T200C. The THL T200 seems to have a similar following. No Kit Kat yet, but these can be had for around $250 and are truly fantastic phones.

cheers for reply.
I was gonna opt for the uni cross if could pick up for $160 before i got my DG800 but now i feel its outdated.
My perfect phone would be 5.7" ,sony lens f2.0 or better 13mp+ and 8mp front, 3200mAH+ battery. Screen res wouldnt bother me much.
Its hard to find the perfect phone LOL (i did own a inew v3 and thought it was very stylist and had everything I needed)
I would like to find a cheap model around $200, You get what you pay for though so its hard to find a good camera and a stylist phone at that price.
the ones in my mind currently are the asus Zenfone6. it doenst have kitkat though.
The new 4G LTE redmi note will go on sale shortly... doesnt have dual sim though.
If I can make myself drop back to android4.2 I think the older model Redmi Note is a good option for me as my country has limited 4G providers anyway and i dont need it. Perhaps there is an update to kitkat for the model....Must read up on some reviews of it. and Is it still available even? didnt it sell out record time!
Should be a few new cheaper models coming in Autumn I guess with fingerprint readers but with these cheaper makes, its always nice to have a few reviews up first to make sure all functions work. India seems to have a few in the pipeline.

It's great to see a user who really has done their research and knows what they want. Cheers to you on that one, mate!
[My two cents]
Besides Kit Kat being the official "latest and greatest" and therefore having an inherent "shiny-factor" I haven't seen it offer any tremendous benefits over Jelly Bean. Given the option, I'd pay an extra $20 or so for Kit Kat just for the novelty, but I wouldn't let it solely steer my decision in buying a phone. Given that within a limited budget, every positive feature becomes a trade-off for another positive feature, having Kit Kat over Jelly Bean would be lower on my list of "must haves".
[/end two cents]
That aside, the Elephone P2000 seems to meet *most* of your criteria. I keep getting distracted by it whenever I look for a new toy.
+ Octa-core
+ 2GB RAM
+ 5.5" screen
+ Kit Kat
+ 13MP camera (not sure about lens aperture)
+ Dual SIM
+ Currently just under $200 with coupon code
+ Cool freaking logo (I love elephants)
+ I'd be hella jealous if you got one
- 2650 mAH battery
- Lack of reviews
Here's a link to the phone at GearBest. If you end up buying through them, use coupon code "chinaphonearena" to save some skrilla, but mostly I'm just linking it to show you for reference.

All that said, the lack of reviews has been one of the main limiting factors preventing me from trying this puppy out. Don't get one based on my recommendation alone since I have no experience with them. Just throwing it out there for consideration.

Ya i did like the p2000 and even looked at P10 before I ordered the Doogee,
I like my Doggee, it feels/looks abit cheap but the camera is amazing imo for the price, I bought just for the gimmick of the back touch panel..with this I thought I would have easy resale to someone for the selfie sale factor. Im going to sell it as soon as I find a replacement.
My main issue with wanting kitkat is Im using it now and the "developer options" are cool as well as the thing where u draw a symbol letter to quick launch apps, and voice control camera...ive gotten used to. the voice control camera would be handy with a 6" phablet i think for one handed photo capture . Maybe jellybean had that too but i never turned it on!
Also handy for a 6" is the drag letter word thing for attempting one handed texting on keyboard!
There are too big reasons to have kitkat on a phablet and If i went back to jellybean it would feel like i am using my old inew v3 again.
Back to Elephone they look nice alright and the specs are nice for the price. The different colour and fingerprint scanner is great for showing off if you like to show that you have the latest gadgets....however thats the mistake I made buying the backtouch doogee LOL
Hmmm your tempting me to have a look at P2000 again, if battery was just a wee bit larger and the camera wasnt 8mp interpolated to 13MP i would certainly snap it up.
[snip] the fingerprint scanner on there phone broke after 4 days :/ So ya i deffinatly need more reviews.
i would go back to jelly bean for the philips i928 at right price Philips also have a super slim 5" model coming out soon like 5.5mm thickness

I have the K910 and at $280 right now it's a steal. Pentaband 3g wcdma, dsfa and kitkat is available. I have kitkat 4.4.4 on my Nexus 7 2013 and can't tell the difference with my jelly bean on the K910. Many functions in kitkat are already incorporated on the K910 Lenovo software such as app permissions etc. The camera quality in hdr mode is superb though I don't buy phones for their cameras. Oh, and a 3050mah battery helps too.
I really like the Huawei honor 6 but when is the international model coming?

the lenovo vibe Z is a great looking phone, but with only 16GB storage its sucks?!
The video review that I saw did'nt big up the camera that much and said the video recording wasnt the best.
Id nearly think about the "golden warrior "S8 budget Lenovo phone, just because of the price. I imagine the camera isnt the best though. looks kinda cool though if you wanted a budget model.
Noone mentioning the Inew V8 here... I really liked my inewV3 until i smashed the screen...which shouldnt have happened because it came with a nice flip view cover that I decided to take off!
So the inew v8... I might pop over to the review thread.
http://www.chinaphonearena.com/forum/Thr...g-Hands-on This forum seems to have much love for the inewV3 model..they must have sold a record number of units this year.
However I dont think the inew will be in my shortlist...I just dont trust the build of that rotating camera....I broke my last two phones and I wouldnt trust that rotating camera with how id be carrying the phone in pocket with loose change. I also imagine the batterylife in'st what I need.
Its not the worst choice though, as i got by fine buy carrying a spare battery for the V3.

Yeah the K910 is a compromise (they all are) depending on how you use your phones. I'm not a big gamer or music user so 16gb + 15gb of Google Drive is fine. There are many choices in your size range but I'd steer clear of the iNew's of this world personally. Let us know what you eventually decide on.

Elephone have a 5.8" in production.
The P1000 will have a 2K display, snapdragon801 and a massive 3GB RAM.
Should excite alot of people looking for a bigger screen phone.
For me not really. Noob question?...Would a 2k display eat the battery, on these phones can you change the display settings to a lower res?
Super HD is wasted on a smartphone imo, I would only consider it in a tablet if for a child who uses it for games and streaming chromecast HD and movies.
I dont need 3GB or does anyone really need 3GB of RAM in a phone really, you can only multitask so many apps, surely 2GB is more than enough for anyone?
For me I am only looking for a 2GB version as opposed to 1GB as it would be smoother from witching apps and general usage?
I dont care about the screen res, good viewing angles is important though.
the redmi note is still top of my list for 5.3"+ phone
