Hi.
I apologise if this has been mentioned before. This is my first post on the forum.
I have a NO.1 S7 I9600 MTK6582 and I get a 'Google play services stopped' error message on every start up and every so often when using the phone and I am seeking help on how to resolve this.
Phone details:
Rooted.

baseband version: S7UBUBMJ2
kernel version: 3.4.5 dpi@SWDD5708#1
build number: JSS15J.S7UBUBMJ2.
Thanks.

Hi, darbs9172. Welcome to chinaphonearena
Go into Settings>apps>all
Find Google play services then clear its cache. See if that helps.

Okay. Check if any Google apps updated recently. If there are, try uninstalling those updates one at a time and see if the error stops.
Did you apply any modifications recently?

Okay. Have you checked the updates? By default, gapps are set to auto update, as far as I know.
So try to roll back any recent updates and see if the error stops.
On the other hand, if none of the gapps are updated, then try updating them.

Phone up to date. Errors still occur.
Would a firmware upgrade resolve the matter?

You can also try clearing cache from recovery menu. And make sure you're not running out of ram storage at any point.
If there is an upgrade available for your phone, go ahead and install it. Please take all necessary precautions. Backups of ROM, nvram, everything.

Let's go at this differently. What version of the S7 do you have
1gb+16g 720p?
I'm also wondering where you got your information. Your baseband version has a very odd format and build version and kernel have no associated dates.
Try installing Mobileuncle tools then take a look at device info. Under OS, take a look at display and see if there is a date associated. If not, scroll all the way down to build prop and look for build date. Let me know what it is.
It seems there are a number of versions of the no.1 S7 ROM. Some earlier ones had google player and GPS bugs.
I'm not saying this is your issue, let's try to figure out if it is.
Let us know the details you find.
