[Question] Bricked with Update

Hi,

today I got my D6000. It was running on firmware "2.2_abroad" (iirc), and so I thought it a good idea to update. I followed the instructions published in this forum and flashed version 2.7 via QFIL. The download succeeded, but after that it wouldn't start. The screen is dark (no backlight), there is no vibration and no sound, even after letting it sit for 20 minutes.

I can not boot into the recovery, either.

If I press the On-button for 30 seconds, the power consumption (while plugged in, obviously) rises from 0 to about 250 mA. When I plug it then into the computer, it is still recognized by the QFIL flash-tool, and I can download firmwares. I have tried 2.7, 2.6, and 2.5, but nothing got it working again.

As I'm currently looking at a rather expensive brick, any help would be appreciated. Thanks in advance,

Fear not, everyone who's been bricked has so far come back from it.

Try to hold power+down for about 15 seconds. Also try power+up.

No. Since the first flashing the screen has always been black.

Just to be sure: The On-Key is the upper right one, right? Then I tried both combinations, and nothing happened.

I fear the problem has someting to do with the original "2.2_abroad" firmware, and the new firmware is not compatible to my phone (although there seem to be no references to different versions of the phone)

Yes upper-right. Try holding for 15 seconds power+vol at the same time while plugged into PC and while unplugged too.

Also just try holding power without volume.

Also try with external battery in and out.

What you say might be some possibility regarding different hardware version of phone, but my guess is not.

Tried that. Nothing changed, the screen is still black

I can still flash different firmwares, but no one worked, either

There are not different versions. Another user flashed over to the newest China ROM from 2.2 Common okay [Only registered and activated users can see links Click here to register]

The only thing I can suggest is maybe try to flash with a different computer. I don't think that will help, but maybe worth a try.
