If I ve already have TWRP can't I just update it? Download the image file and install it from inside TWRP? Or from inside an app like TWRP or flashify?

You asked to me an intelligent question.
You have to flash the new twrp 3.2.0 via SP Flash Tool.
Just to be safe, re-install SuperSU zip before to reboot in normal mode.
The most important thing :
You will have
to make a new full backup onto your microSD.
The old full backup made by the twrp 3.1 is no good.
It is because
there is a difference between the 3.1 backup and the 3.2 backup.
As I pointed out, the
twrp 3.1 use the
MD5 files :
Instead, the
twrp 3.2 use the
SHA2 files :

Yesterday I've updated to TWRP 3.2.0 without any issues. I have already had rooted the latest available rom (20170829) and TWRP 3.1.0. I just flashed the new 3.2.0
with flashtools and everything is working fine. No need to wipe data. Also the TWRP settings were kept from the previous version.
Thanks, Cleopatra!

Can I flash Magisk instead of SuperSu for root?? Will it boot-up?
