It seems to be an unusual bug, which is why I suggested re-downloading the program. Looks like the ge.tt link is overloaded. Try this [Only registered and activated users can see links Click here to register]
Delete your current Droid Tools folders, then extract this.
Also, if you have access to a different computer, try running Droid Tools from there. See if it will still give you problems.
If it still won't work, then try to make a scatter file using the v2.3.0.
If you are able to make one, download an official stock ROM for your phone. Compare if your scatter file and the one that came with the stock ROM are similar.
Once you have a scatter file, I think you should be able to make a backup through read back with SP Flash Tool. But before jumping into that, let's ask the more experienced Moderators and users if that would work.
For now, try getting Droid Tools to work first.

If you have, and none of them work, try the following.
Uninstall everything again. PdaNet drivers, etc.
Reboot your computer.
Connect your phone to PC with USB Debugging on. In device manager, find your phone under USB Controllers. Right-click on it, click Properties. In the Driver tab, select to update driver then choose to select driver manually. Select the folder with the Ultimate MediaTek Driver Pack. Wait while Windows chooses and installs the appropriate driver.
Try and see if that will work.

That's excellent, walboer!
For the CWM, I had a similar problem with loading CWM using SP Flash Tool on Windows 8.
I used Mobileuncle Tools to load mine. Follow this tutorial: [Only registered and activated users can see links Click here to register]
In the tutorial, there is this note
Quote:- If MTKDroidTools ever asked you whether to install patched files to the phone, you have to say 'No'. You will be asked twice. Therefore, just click 'No' button twice. The process fill be finished, and you can now quit MTKDroidTools.
Sometimes it only pops up once, that's okay. Just click 'No'
Good luck!
