ahh well its because I had found 2 phones both with the su executable and both in read only state
and both required, for me, a google app to bypass the secure mode.
The first 2 photos on page one should suffice for you. My script does extra checks. If you can get to read-write status without any extra stuff.......good.
Ok I can understand this easier with the image thanks.
I will show you an optional method, meaning you don't have to do it to reduce that string.....later but I had to make sure my method worked so here is a teaser
2) now ignore that for the moment and now go to page 1 and use your terminal to run the commands at (3) and take an image of it pls
What I suspect is your system is ro which is why you can't paste to
/system/media

This is correct so I followed your instructions on how to make it rw then I had to give the /system folder full permission, and also the /system/media folder then I was able to paste, rename, and delete.
The only problem is that it is not permanent when I restarted my phone I had to do it all over again. But it worked long enough so that I could do what I needed to do.
You now have 4 options to choose from, each with their own merits
1) leave it be, your kernel boots up in secure mode and secure really does prevent accidents
2) automate the insecure mode with a pay google app as mentioned in first post
3) manually repeat the commands from (3) when ever you need to do something to the Android system
4) create a /system/etc/init.d script that "automates" your manual command
I can't help you choose but as a generalization insecure is called insecure for a reason. It is therefore essential that you are competent and comfortable with doing multiple backups.
Let me know in a few days time if you understand my waffle ok
I think I will leave it be, and whenever I need to make changes I will just manually enter the commands so that I can do that. I did not understand much of the instructions in the first post but I understood enough to get what I needed done and that is great, thank you. Now I move on to something else finding the Stock Samsung Galaxy Note 3 boot animation and logo, task that has been difficult thus far lol. Have a great day bro.
