Ulefone Be Pro – 2GB RAM / Sony 13MP / LG Display
Before there was Elephone, there was Ulefone. They have been in the game for longer than many of the current brands you know and love (or hate). Mostly known for making good clones, Ulefone has now ventured beyond their roots to design their own phones. according to the box — a Sony branded camera This […]

Two roads diverged in a yellow wood,
And sorry I could not travel both
And be one traveler, long I stood
And looked down one as far as I could
To where it bent in the undergrowth;
If you're betrayed, release disappointment at once.
By that way, the bitterness has no time to take root.

OH SNAP! Just the review I've been waiting for. It's great to see how promising this phone is looking. For the price, it seems pretty bonkers for all that you get!

Thanks for the review!
This thing about upcoming upgrade to Lollipop - has anyone seen any official statement from Ulefone about this?
All I've been able to find is a number of shops (including Gearbest) stating that it will be upgraded, but...frankly...I guess all of us in this forum have seen variations of the truth with regards to specifications on these china-brands. Any official statement anywhere?
(I've wrote an email to [email protected] as stated on ulefone.com...so far no response)

According to the Ulefone Rep I deal with, Lollipop is coming as an OTA update for Ulefone Be Pro. The exact words "coming soon". What everyone is waiting for is MediaTek to do their part. Until they do, it won't happen.
All three of recent OS (JB,KK,LP) are excellent and even the big brands haven't updated most of their phones yet to Lollipop. But I do understand wanting the latest, and my guess is it will be here this month. The 64-bit SoC models especially should get this update, but their are no guarantees.
I usually leave sales promotion notes in the review, but the current price of $135 for the first 100 is... To put it bluntly - Shocking. At $146 it's a very good deal. At $135... If you're shopping for a new phone, it's should be a nearly impossible temptation. The only caveat is the mediocre WiFi. I plan on tinkering a bit and seeing if I can get some more juice out of it. That being said, 80ft should suffice for most home and business situations.

Speaking of specifications and variations of the truth, Ulefone yesterday posted the following apology on their Facebook wall:
We are sorry that we mentioned that our phones uses Sony camera in our disclosed product information. It is a mistake made by our official when we were doing marketing promotion. Although Sony camera technology is widely used for a varies of phone cameras, our camera indeed is not Sony.
We sincerely do apologize here for it, and we have corrected it on our official website and other websites, and promise the same problem won't happen again.
Please superise us. We are sure to be more serious on our product information in future.

Guess it's pretty rare that one of these vendors actually do communications like this, so big applause from my side at least.

Screw it, I follow Gizbeat and honestly couldn't resist the $135 offer at Gearbest...awaiting shipment, I'll post a small review after getting it :-)

I just wanted to note for those who haven't read the comments in the review, some people are noticing a reddish tint towards the center of the frame in pictures from the camera. I didn't even notice until another owner mentioned it.
It seems it can be seen in the wall picture, but can't be seen in "normal" pictures. I need to test further to see if it can be reproduced.
There is never a perfect phone and at the price of $135, I still do think the phone is an outstanding bargain, but wanted to mention this point to the members here.

Just a heads up. This will be in the newsletter tomorrow, but anyone interested can see the conclusion and Antutu on page 2, as well as a link to Ice Storm results for MT6732.

I actually got a reply today from Ulefone officially after my mail to [email protected] - they confirm that Lollipop is still being tested and they do not currently have a firm release date.
My copy of the be pro is still on it's way...

this be pro looks real good. they are making their name sound very good... too bad for the wifi range and camera though, because the picture quality is actually great. its just the color. i guess the more skilled people can fix the photos, but i know nothing of that, i just click the photo and thats it.
well, im sure ulefone is takign notes...
