V3 flashing problem

Thx i learned something new today. A few years ago it was so much easyer flashing my old acer s100 liquid but also did not have any problems with the just retired umi x1s.

How difficult would it have been if you'd just followed the instructions? I'm not trying to be rude man. Just saying.

You installed PDANet ADB Drivers
You're using SP Flash Tools 3.1328 or newer and ran it as administrator
You selected the ENTIRE firmware as it was extracted from the download and are using the scatter from the download
You selected firmware upgrade.
You removed the battery and then put the battery back
You then clicked FIRMWARE UPGRADE
You then attached the USB cable

Correct?

No need to put battery back in, spft flashes without the battery in, so without it battery will never try to charge

Also do we really need those pdanet drivers? It installs that annoying taskbar program... i uninstalled it and just installed the mt65xx vcom drivers and it all works.

You don't have to use PDAnet drivers if others work for you. Generally speaking they are the easiest and most trouble free. Especially in terms of troubleshooting.

You don't have to install the PDAnet app on your phone. Just the drivers on PC. You can hide the taskbar icon if it really bothers you.

Just removing the battery may work. Occasionally it won't start unless the battery is put back in, and some phones require it. Again, this is a case of troubleshooting.

Yes it would have been easy but as i told you befor i had a bad preconception about flashing preloader, and i flashed the umi with at least 5-6 different roms without preloader successfully, so i tough it is not necessary when you flash an update.
By the way you could have just said that "hey moron, you must flash preloader as well" and that would have been clear for me for the first sight.
Anyway do not take it as an offense and thx for the help and the work done for the V3 community!
