Hi, all. I have zero experience with Android programming, and I'm a noob to both Chinaphones and rooting. That said, as I was working my way through Gizbeat's Seven Rooting Methods, trying to root my MTK6582 (no luck yet, but I still have three methods left to try ^_^), I started poking around the file system of my new phone and i noticed a file named
//etc/agold_cheat_evaluating_software. xml.
does anyone know what this file does, or if it has any legitimate purpose? again, i have no experience with Android programming, but based on my general programming knowledge, the file--the contents of which I have copied and pasted immediately below--appear to me to be designed to trick a roster of benchmarking apps (such as antutu, pre-installed on my phone) into overstating the phone's specs to the user.
so i thought i'd ask you all. thanks very much for your time.
