Two weeks ago, out of curiousity I order coolpad 7320. My main consideration is price, it could be found around $140. It's an octacore device priced in mtk6582 range. Yesterday, I finally got it in my hand.
To be honest, initially I didn't particulary have high expectation with this phone. Well, it's very cheap and could be considered one of the cheapest octacore around.
I'll start with specs:
WCDMA 900/2100
5.5" hd with ips & ogs screen
Mt6592 @1.7Ghz
1 gb ram/8gb rom
13 mp rear camera with autofocus and flash + 2mp front
2500mah replaceable battery
Wifi/bluetooth/OTG
I bought it @139.99 with free shipping, arrived after 18 days shipping with singpost with 13 usd tax.
At first I am shocked, I could not find the battery in the box. The phone is very light for a 5.5" phone, so I think the battery is not inside the phone. But I was wrong, it was there sealed with a yellow transparant tape.
The phone is small for a 5.5" device, only around 3mm longer than xiaomi mi3 with 5" screen and about in same weight. For a $140, coolpad 7320 is a well build phone. It has 100% plastic body with chromed line. The body is solid, no creaking sound like doogee dagger in the back cover. The one I recieved is dark grey with brushed titanium pattern back cover. It was very shiny but finger prints is less noticeable, maybe because it came with darker color. Overall build quality is on par with xiaomi note. But I could assure you that this phone is way lighter thinner, and smaller than xiaomi note. The bezel is slim so most of the front side is dominated with the lcd.
The back cover:
You could google around for more pic ;)
After I removed the tape covering contact area in the battery I turn on the phone. The first thing I found is a nice screen, bright with no shading near the edge which I sometimes found in cheaper phone. Then it plays boot tune, which is LOUD but with significant noise. After it boots I found volume is 2 step below maximum, after I step it down a bit the noise in the speaker is less noticeable but I think it still there. Coolpad is forcing too much with its external speaker.
The first thing I do when unboxing a new model is testing the camera. Suprisingly this phone has good camera, it takes great picture even in low light condition. Almost as good as xiaomi redmi 1s at night with more detail, but when you zoom it there is some noise. Overall this phone has better camera than doogee dagger. The camera app itself has minimal feature, but this could be fixed by installing 3rd party camera app. It could record 1080 videos with selectable format, I haven't play too much with it.
I will compared it with Coolpad f1 which I will recive today especially with the camera. Coolpad has sony IMX135 exmore rs sensor, so I was curious with how the difference between the two device.
I will update this post when I have more time, hope this helps.
Ps: I know this phone did not has gorilla glass which for some is crucial, but for those who did not need it I could assure you the phone is worth every penny!
