Hi all, I've just gotten hold of a new t100s and thought I'd provide a bit of a public service and field any questions people looking to buy one themselves might have about the phone before they buy.
I'm pretty happy with it so far myself, having come from a Nexus S previously, with my only complaint so far, which is probably due more to my service provider than the phone in all fairness, is that 3G performance seems to be a bit lacklustre indoors while I've been out at the "shops" compared with prior phones, but again, these are only early observations and in no way scientific.
Anyway, fire away and I'll answer everything I'm able to.
Cheers, Mg.

Hi, thank you for sharing your experience with the phone.
Have you had a chance to test the camera. THL advertises a f2.0 lens but I could not find any information on its quality in normal and low light.
My second question is about the GPS. THL have had issues with poor GPS performances and I wanted to make sure it was fixed in their new phones.
Thanks.

Regarding the camera, I can't find any info via any diagnostic app that I've found so far to confirm the lens spec of f2.0 for you, unfortunately (unless you can recommend one), however I can report that I've found the camera to perform quite well in all light levels I've tried so far.
Regarding the GPS, it seems to take quite some time to gain a first fix, but once gained and given access to open sky the reported accuracy is greater than I personally have seen from any other consumer level GPS, getting down to 2 metres with unobstructed sky.
Hope this helps, let me know if I can be of further assistance.

Thank you very much for the info, it does help a lot.
You seem happy with the phone and that is what matters the most to me not numbers but that you like your phone.
I read (I cannot remember where) that THL were using Sony lenses and chip for the camera, and it seems to be confirmed by what you say about the quality of the pictures.
For the GPS the test by GLG (jtgeek in french) gave a first fix time of 600 sec, which seems way too long. That bothers me knowing that THL has had issues with the GPS. You also experienced a long first fix but then again you seem very happy with the performance afterward so I am pretty sure I could live with it.
Thank you for your help, I just ned to make up my mind if I go with the t100 or the big brother the t200.

Glad to have been of assistance!
Regarding GPS performance, one thing I did notice was that without clear view of the sky the accuracy can fall quite easily, but for me at least coming from the Samsung Nexus S, where GPS accuracy was really terrible unless you had the phone upside down all the time (gps antenna located right on the back of everything and attenuated significantly by something 'above' it on the screen side of the phone) so I'm happy enough with it for that reason, but it's no where near as good (except in reported accuracy values which as I said I've never seen matched) as the most robust GPS performer I've had previously, being the Apanda A60, which would get a good fix almost anywhere at all and keep it.
What's the difference in specs/price on the t200? From what I initially saw the only difference I could see was gorilla glass and an 8mp front camera instead of 13mp.
Cheers,
Mg

The t200 has a 6" screen compared to a 5" for the t100. Asside from that and the front camera resolution you mentionned, I think the specs are pretty much the same.

Thank you very much for what you are doing here. Can you run an antutu test on it an screencapture all the pages of the results and share it with us here? On the results antutu shows the aperture info of the camera.
If it shows f2.0 we can make sure that it has sony camera lens.
Besides can you take some photos outdoor in lowlight and normal light. Then upload them here for us. The camera is really important to me..
And have tested tje nfc? Does it work?
How is th battery life?

Not sure we can rely on Antutu. I have the T200 and Antutu gives 27253.but device info is a little srewed up. eg says rear camera is 18.2 megapixel! and front facing as 12.6. Also it reports the weight of the phone...how the hell does Antutu know this? Doesn't seem to report the aperture either.

Hello,
I got my THL T100s and I am setting it up but i have problem with mms/gprs setup.
When i get message from provider and try to install settings, phone asked for PIN code.
I try with code that provider gave to me but it doesnt accept it. I also tried with 0000, 1234,...
but nothing was accepted.
Do you have idea what to type in?
I didnt find PIN but i set it up manualy.
I got phone yesterday so I didnt have time to test everything but i will update.
Rear camera is definitely f2.0 and it is fantastic in daylight. Screen is beautiful
with great visibility in sunlight. Antutu got 27650.
But I am dissapointed that just main sensors are present, no gyro or gravity
sensor and not even linear acc sensor. I dont know if they are just not software
enabled or not hard installed at all, but for 300$ phone it is a big problem.

Here is gsam stats.
I use phone in dual sim, wifi is always on, brightnes on auto.
I am still on stock rom, I use clean master to shut down unnecesary
proceses and thats all.
What is most important about battery life is that it drops down evenly from
100% so you can always know how much will it last. Not like my previous Bedove X11 that had sudden drops of 10-20%.
