Yes, it is fake, unfortunately.

Although, I have this phone too, and I like it very much (actually my wife but I am an Android guy here, so I deal with the phone on a more serious level). It is responsive, fast, this 1 GB of RAM is enough for quite decent multitasking.

Anyway - the "cheat" files responsible for fake readouts (not only RAM but other parameters as well - processor cores, frequency, resolution, etc.) are:

/system/etc/agold_cheat_evaluating_software. xml and
/system/etc/changeram.xml

You can edit them according to MKKLR21's post here - [Only registered and activated users can see links Click here to register]

After restarting the phone, it finally shows correct values. It still gives over 17000 points in Antutu tests, so it is a decent four-core phone for $170.

I took my chances, and simply deleted them. After restarting the phone, it finally shows correct values. It still gives over 17000 points in Antutu tests, so it is a decent four-core phone for $170.

I have also took my chance and deleted these two files. Since then my phone doesn't start Crying It stops at welcome screen..
Do you have any idea how to restore them? (I have saved them to my pc)

*Update: I made a factory reset, and it still doesn't start.

I would just try to push them to the previous locations with adb. It depends at which point your phone stops - if Android will support a conection with adb.

Do you have recovery installed by any chance?

I had deleted them too, and phone didn't boot. Btw even by changing their values, didn't boot, so i let them there

Unfortunately I didn't use adb before. I had Titanium backup, but without the system files. Slowly I had to realize that I had to install the stock rom somehow. I have to tell you, that it was a pain, but I have deserved it... I spent nearly the whole day with it (i could use my phone at 3:30AM first..), but frankly, it had a big advantage: I have learned how to install a ROM!

First I had to find the stock rom. On needrom I found two, finally I decided to use the newer, custom rom (410MB, pre-rooted, without the craps and with two infamous cheated files corrected..)
Then I downloaded the SP Flash tool, and I began the procedure as it is described there. Nothing happened..
Then, after a few hours, I have realized that my device is not recognized by my Win7. Ok. I have found a [Only registered and activated users can see links Click here to register] on that page, among the posts. It's in German...and it's not the only problem. It is very tricky to install the MTK driver, even if you speak German. Finally I could manage it.
The rest was self-explanatory, and at 2am I could start my phone. Then I have spent the remaining one hour with refining phone settings and with installing my good old apps.

Today my first job was to make every possible backups as I could (ADB, Titanium)

Learn all you can from the mistakes of others...

(Anyway, it's thought-provoking, that just deleting two small files could ruin the whole Android...but maybe it's only my opinion)

I am sorry you had problems because of my post. It seems that only editing these two files is a correct way to go.

I updated my post so nobody else will be misled.

And about ruining Android - it happens here because the whole ROM was set up with a goal to falsify basic values, and therefore probably many other system applications base their work on values present in these two files. It does not happen in a normal system.

And, BTW, try to remove one important system file from Windows, and you will not start your computer, either...

You are absolutely right. And don't blame yourself. Usually I'm not so incautious, I was just too lazy on that afternoon, and I got my prize..
After all, I benefited from this: I learned how to install a custom ROM and my phone has become better than before.

Your phone is really tough to root. Root failed Sad
Easy root with Framaroot. You could also need Mobile Uncle to flash cwm recovery (Carliv touch).
