Hi all
I've just received my new H9500+ and I'm very happy with it. I, like others on this forum have found that the GPS doesn't work but I will go through the fixes as suggested on this forum tosee if I can get it going.
I see that this phone is often referred to as an S4, and I assume that's because it is supposed to be much like the Samsung Galaxy S4. Is it possible to set up the software on this phone to more closely emulate that phone?
I have a Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1 tablet and which is similar in operation to the S4 and would very much like my phone to be as close to the same in operation as I can get it.
I am completely new to Android and would very much appreciate any advice or suggestions as to what modifications would make it more like the Samsung Galaxy S4.
Cheers

Hello Simsy, thanks for posting here.
The easiest, least intrusive way to get an 'S4 feel' is by installing Apex or Nova (I use Apex) and then installing something like
[Only registered and activated users can see links Click here to register] and/or
[Only registered and activated users can see links Click here to register]. It won't make everything S4 (example, Android system menu), but it will give it more of an S4 type look with icons and homescreen.
The reason it's referred to as an S4 is because it's a 'clone'. Same design as the S4. But not the same guts obviously. Some unscrupulous China sellers will actual advertise it as an S4 in the heading.

Are you sure the GPS continued to search? I mean, did you set GPS Test to remain on?
There's another tutorial from another member that involves deleting mtkgps.dat. IMO, this doesn't help anything, but you can give it a go.

The other possibility is an antenna issue. Performing some surgery could fix the issue.

Hmm.. It's likely an antenna issue. If you're handy at all, give a look at the tutorial I mentioned above regarding antenna surgery. GPS is a great feature to have in many situations. Try to get it sorted out.
You can also try a different firmware. I doubt it will fix the issue, but it's worth a shot. It's also worth trying the other tutorial I mentioned. Again, doubt it will make a difference, but worth a try.
