MediaTek will be releasing a new SoC. The MTK6589T. Will feature a CPU ramped to 1.5GHz and ramped GPU to 357Mhz. However, don't expect this in most phones until absolute earliest mid-June.

You likely wouldn't notice a difference at all at 720p except possibly with higher end 3d games. The GPU is significantly ramped.
Users with 1080p should appreciate the boost. Especially with gaming. But users with 720p and MTK6589 should still see higher frame rates than 1080p with MTK6589T

ah yes that makes sense.. would you recommend holding off on the neo n003 until theres a new CPU.. or would you say the MTK6589T is sufficient?

Gauging by reports, MTK6577 with SGX533 pushed 720p no problem, so MTK6589 SGX544 standard should push 1080p as well. Thus, MTK6589T should be more than enough to push the OS at 1080p. Though if you play high-end 3D games, it could be worth the wait.
Also, there's a rumor that Neo N003 may be held off until MTK6589T comes out.

The rumors are happened on through tons of reading. The breakdown is based on my own experience and educated (or at least semi-educated ) figuring.
I'm in Thailand now, not in China, but you're welcome here, I'll buy you a beer.

I could go into more detail, but basically if we can hit 250+ on 2D in Antutu, then Android should run butter. I've seen some benchmarks, but it's difficult to know if they're real or not, whether or not it's MTK6589T and what the individual scores are for the different areas tested. I would be very surprised to see either MTK6589 or MTK6589T not hit 250. Likely around 300 for MTK6589, (MTK6589 is hitting 600+ with 720p) and 400+ for the MTK6589T. Let's see how close Gizbeat is when we get some guaranteed real scores in.
Where are you from? You can move to China, though depending on what you're coming to Asia for, you might like Thailand better
