[Question] iNew V3 plus discussion
#11
(2014-12-14, 03:42)apmatzen Wrote: Hmm, have been reading all your guys posts and now i'm not sure about this phone...

Ive ordered the phone at Gearbest and now it's finally on its way...maybe arriving next week.

I hope the specs on their website are true or i will be very disappointed...

Thankfully the specs are correct save for the gyroscope sensor - it appears that the phone doesn't have an actual gyroscope.

The battery seems smallish for that chipset - I'd recommend that you buy a powerbank particularly if you frequently use power-hungry apps like 3d games, gps navigation apps, etc.

Hi guys,

thanks for all your answers.

Got the phone today...and...it's a really nice telephone!

But I didn't get a extra battery...oh well...doesn't really matter.

Ok here goes:
Nice looks and ok feeling in the hands, no cheap feeling (My opinion)
Earphones that was in the case: Trash.
Case ok and in use.
Battery use: Don't know yet, charging now for the first time.
Really like the clean android kitkat.

No probs yet...

Have you confirmed that it is an actual gyroscope? Some manufacturers fake the gyroscope by combining inputs from other sensors to 'simulate' a gyroscope.

iNew deserve a thumbs up if it has an actual gyro.

I can not confirm whether it is true or false sensor. I watched the video ( )and saw that this does not work, but when I repeated this all on my phone everything worked perfectly.

Just wanted to share this with all you guys:

Went to work at 6.15am and came home around 16.00pm, and the phone is at 53% with lots of calls in the working hours (Yes, I use the telephone at work).

Also, I heard music over bluetooth on the way home in my car.

The only thing that happened a few times today, is that it freezes...but just press the powerbutton and it's back again.

Over all, a good phone.

Over and out.

Those are some pretty impressive figures -- I think I have figured out why the V3 plus doesn't drain the battery a lot faster than the original V3.

Even though it is an octa-core phone, it's cores are clocked at 1.4Ghz and very few apps can make use of all 8 cores. Most of the apps we use on a day-to-day basis are limited (by their programming) to using a maximum of 4 cores. The first V3 had a quad-core clocked at 1.3 Ghz per core. Since the V3 plus uses only 4 cores most of the time, its battery life should be quite similar to the V3.

It looks like iNew went a step further to reduce the phone's energy consumption. The V3 plus has a better screen that has CABC and some other clever power-saving features.

Bottom line is that even though the phone has a better chipset, ultimately it doesn't need much more power than its older brother.

Do you know that the camera module (Sony IMX135) is the same one that is used in the real Samsung Galaxy S4? I think it's about time the world awakened to the fact that China-based companies CAN make some damn good phones.

Yes, they really are beginning to make better telephones.

Wow, didn't know about the camera module.

Actually, the reason why I bought a china phne isn't because I can't afford..lets say a Samsung Galaxy S5...It's just that they are boring phones...not because they are bad...all Samsungs phones just look alike.

Same old boring design and UI.

Guys,
I got mine yesterday I love it!
Two questions:
- It came with Kitkat 4.4.2. With the screen locked, I dont have any gadgets - Even the Camera icon is missing.
- Did anyone here rooted this phone? I've tried all methods I've found and no lucky.

Cheers,
MaaT

Do you mean extra screens on the Lock screen?

It's possible...you just have to enable it under Settings.

Not rooted mine yet...maybe sometime...don't feel the need for it right now.
