Two roads diverged in a yellow wood,
And sorry I could not travel both
And be one traveler, long I stood
And looked down one as far as I could
To where it bent in the undergrowth

Sawasdee Krub. Very nice review. Where do you live? I am a Bangkokian and found this site from pandawill. There are many mtk6589 video review in youtube. But no one ever mention or test the dual standby as in this official mediatek video
Please test it on your hero. I think this function is very important and it will be very helpful. Keeping on good work, have a nice day, Kob Kun Krub

Thanks for the compliment man. I live in Lamphun...70km from CM. Are you Thai?
I'll try to get dual-standby tested.

You're welcome. Lamphun is such a nice and quiet province. Yes, I am and may be a very rare Thai guy who use Zopo zp100 as main cell phone. Still very good phone but if the improvement of this dual-standby function really work, I may change to the quad core. Will wait for the result. Thanks

Yes, I'd say very rare to have a Zopo in Thailand.
I like Lamphun a lot. I live in ban hong. 35km from muang lamphun. Now I'm in CM on a small holiday though.
I will definitely get back to you on the dual-standby issue.
imobile should be updating to MTK6589 soon as well.

Pagga,
Maybe we have a terminology problem. MTK6589 does support dual-standby, but so do all MTK dual-SIM CPUs that I know of.
Unfortunately none of them support dual "active"... I'm pretty sure that's what you're wondering. If it can receive calls on one SIM while you're making a call on a SIM from a different network... yes? Unfortunately, MTK6589 doesn't support it.
But with data, for example while using 3G on one SIM and someone tries to call you on the other SIM, it will shut off the data and allow the call to come through. If you get a call on the same SIM while using data on that SIM, it will allow both data and the voice to come through at the same time.
I hope I'm being clear...
What I didn't test was 2 SIMs on the same network. It's theoretically possible. If you need this tested, I can do that tomorrow at my friend's mobile shop. Now I have 3 SIMs, but True, DTAC, AIS.

Kob kun again for your kind. SS Galaxy Grand Duos is very popular at this moment coz of they have dual active sim function.

Very clear, this is what I wanna know. With my zopo mt6575, I use TOT sim for 3g and dtac for calling. When I use 3g (sim 1), the other sim was totally shut off. People who call me on dtac no. will hear only the number you're calling cannot be connected.
As you say, mt6589 allow call to come on sim 2 while the sim 1 is online data, that's good job. It's not the problem to shut off data while receive call, much better than can't receive at all with mt6575.

Don't need further test, the info is enough. I'm very appreciated.

kap, no problem.
I tested several times and the call came through no problem on AIS while on DTAC net. It should be same with TOT net and DTAC incoming, but can't promise.
