THL T6S

Bought from Minideal pre rooted "iroot". It was supposed to be stripped of Chinese language aps and hardware tested. Some China apps remain on the phone and some short cuts to non existent apps display still on the phones screen of apps.
There is a fatal error if the auto time zone is set on in settings "time and date" and a Sim card is connected to the cell network. Auto time zone can not be used. The tea lady at Minideal may have checked my phones hardware operation after it was rooted. No matter it is a good phone and setting time zone manually is not a big problem.
A good phone for New Zealand where ISPs are still in rip off mode with limited data and then penalty overage rates. Having two sim cards is a help in these circumstances.
With help from Chinaphonearena I have a backup of NVRAM and several CWM backups in case the phone gets messed up by the spread of software hardware diseases of which the time and date issue may be the tip of the iceberg.

hi, GCJohnstone

hmm its good you are rooted, it will make it easier to make a backup. follow this guide [Only registered and activated users can see links Click here to register]
the cwm only backs up data and app settings, i think. not an entire rom. so you need one more full backup.

maybe you can try clearing the cache of the service that crashes? or if you get desperate, do a factory reset. but will lose root. but at least you already know iroot works Smiling

last is here: stock rom [Only registered and activated users can see links Click here to register]
take a good look at the two versions.

Thank you. I appreciate your input.
I have done NVRAM to a file 1.6G and to a compressed file 825437KB with the tutorial suggested. I think.
I may try one of the roms from needrom but at this stage what I have is good. Maybe the FOTA may correct these points or make it worse but for now I will leave well enough alone.
I suspect that the NVRAM backed up will include most if not all the phone.
One of the other utilities for CWM install suggested that at least part of the phone was "Soc" System on chip and for that reason not flashable.
Another issue I have seen while playing is that the factory mode offers a key test of hard keys including a non existing "Home Key" so what I have may be a hybrid of cheaper parts.
The phone is working well. So I am not under pressure.

Sys settings says:

thl.T6S.166K.1373MW.1A.141206.KK
1.V2_10.FWVGA.COM.8P64.B1B5

Before doing anything I will have to be pushed by the phone going bad. The RAM detail is close to ROM 3 so I will down load that and sit on it.

My serial number is:
SN BBDHQ 28W00004C 120(FHB)
So there is a C in it.

A moderator may be able to help with my number.
I can tell you that Mobile Uncle sees a serial number of only zeros and there are hardware issues with the phone that indicate to me that it is a counterfeit.
Quad GSM and WCDMA 850 2100 cell frequencies. Still the best phone I have ever used. G

THL T6s

No longer in use.  Was replaced for faulty camera focus and loss of connectivity with cell sites as they upgraded.  G2 unavailable and no G4 in the phone.

It has not been dumped yet and has worked as a spare for a broken Samsung that used a G3 sim card.

The issues with built form parts nature rule out any effort to expand its use though it remains a quality receiver with good sound for speech in calls.

Replacements are Umidigi.  A5_pro.  Factory bare android.  McDonnalds sometimes see these as a rooted device and stop the use of their WiFi on it.  Most likely for the blatant China ness of it and instructions from Mr Trump.
