I have no clue if this is possible, but I've read MediaTek has released some MT6592s with Android 4.4 already, so I was wondering if it would be possible to upgrade my JellyBean (on a Newman K1S octa) to a KitKat, and how that's done.
That and/or how to get more governor options, because I feel hotplug isn't doing enough...

Another consensus (amongst this forum at least) is that many of us actually *prefer* JellyBean over KitKat. Just a heads-up.
Have you ever ported a ROM yourself, @bufusbuf ?

I'm currently using a ROM I got from needrom, a "superAOSP" thing. I managed to flash it through CWM recovery, along with everything else, because flashtool usually bugs out on me.
@WuddaWaste
I never ported a ROM, but I've been considering it, since it looks like a possible way of getting a new kernel. My problem is that I haven't found a phone that shares the same characteristics as mine (most octa cores have a 1080x1920 resolution, whereas mine is 720x1280), and I've read that is where I should start...
